Pool area had rubbish and empty glasses everywhere. We were there for about 1.5 hours and in that time only one staff member walked around collecting some (not all) rubbish and putting in wheelie bin they were pulling behind them (normal wheelie bin, not covered or anything). No one went around collecting empty glasses in the time we were there. Plenty of staff around, but they generally stayed behind the bar. Weren't that many customers so mess must have been there for a while before we arrived. Empty glasses (plastic, as it's a pool) were left at edge of people by other customers. Ibis' were stalking the area because of all the food scraps and they would have knocked the glasses into pool if it wasn't for a customer moving the glasses from pool edge onto nearby table.
Yep, the customers were doing the cleaning.
Expect this level of service from a very, very bad fast food court.
On check-in was told that would have to provide copy of photographic identification of person who's name the room was booked under. I have no problem with the requirement, but this was NEVER communicated to us: not on reservation email, not on their website. Couldn't find it stated anywhere. Was told that if we didn't have it we couldn't check in. Unfortunately as this was a short trip away I hadn't brought any as didn't see the need. Fortunately I had a scanned copy from an old email which I managed to find. If I didn't have that?
Emailed hotel asking for clarification as to where this requirement is stated so I know where to look on next booking. They replied to email, but never answered question. Didn't respond to follow-up either.
Once again, i have no issue with the ID requirement, but if it's going to prevent people checking in then it needs to be communicated.
Room itself was nice, but there was nothing to show what services & facilities were available in the hotel. Normally expect a booklet or something with map, restaurants, etc Website isn't very helpful either.
Clean, comfortable room. Unfortunately near a group of elevators - i am a very light sleeper - so not the best. Try to avoid the main checkin time - a very long slow queue. However they were handing out glasses of bubbles whilst we waited - so that helped pass the time :) The included breakfast ( in harvest buffet restaurant) was quite sufficient, queued to get in, but service was efficient & quick once we were seated.
My husband and I stayed for one night. All the staff we met were very friendly and extremely helpful. Our room was very well appointed. We dined in the Japanese restaurant and the food and service was excellent. We will definitely return.
Amazing location, rooms and service. My family loved the stay over the Australia Day week after being in lock down in Victoria for most of the year. It was a wonderful and much needed getaway that didn't disappoint. Looking forward to coming back.
