We had a fantastic time at Hotel Romantica! Beyond the incredible, clean and cozy cottage room (go for it if available), a highlight is also the owning family. They really made us feel at home with their hospitality and care. This is the way to really experience Zermatt, even during covid you feel safe and relaxed - looking forward to being back soon!
The hotel decor is charming, as was the owner and her staff. Incredibly warm, friendly, and very accommodating. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts that we've had anywhere - hearty enough that it kept us satisfied through some strenuous hikes. My wife and I will not consider staying anywhere else on our next visit to Zermatt. Can't recommend this place enough.
Stayed in one of the cottages which was great fun.
The place is beautifully kept by the manager with a garden that Monty Don would be proud of.

So happy with our stay at Hotel Romantica. My daughter and I spent a week here skiing. Thor and Michelle are wonderful hosts. Location is perfect. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast is delicious. I gave them 5 stars because 6 is not an option.
We stayed for 3 nights in one of the rustic cottages, which are over 200 years old - truly unique and charming! The cottages are warm, and very homely. We didn't feel cramped. The location of the hotel is perfect - just off the main street but the hotel is in a very calm and peaceful location. Both the Sunnegga and Matterhorn Express lifts are walkable. The owners are very welcoming and helpful. We were met at the train station in the morning (dressed and ready to ski). Tor met us at the station and took our bags to the hotel so we could crack on with some skiing :) breakfast was delicious too. This is a very special place to stay and I would recommend it highly.
