Reviews from visitors:
Pros:
Affordable
Room was spotless
Beach front view where we can open our back door and sit at the beach
Friendly staff
Dog friendly
Use of soap dispensers, rather than single use disposable plastics (environmentally conscious)
Cons:
Thin walls (I woke up to my neighbors having sex)
Comforter on bed was thin, and no extra blankets were provided
Dated look of the entire room
Overall, it was a good experience. The view and easy access to the beach from our room cancelled out the cons. It’s a place for us to crash while we adventured out in Tahoe so our room served its purpose!
The photos I added are the view from our hotel room when we stepped out of our door to the beach.
Nice place to stay when you have your dog.
Pros: Beach is pretty and super close, staff was friendly, and the electric fireplace was a nice touch on a cold night.
Cons: standard double queen room was a tad tight for a family of 4, there's no microwave, and both the restaurants on site seemed to serve basically the same food.
Overall it was a nice place to stay, not far from Heavenly Village, and I loved the walk from one side of the beach to the other.
Our reservation for this Summer was just cancelled by the resort. Be careful! We were told to find somewhere else to stay as they did a Hotel buy out. We made our reservation a year in advance per the resort’s policy. Zero compensation was offered. Look elsewhere
I rarely write reviews, positive or negative, unless my experience is extreme on either end of the spectrum. I already had sent an e-mail to the hotel after our stay however I have heard nothing back from them. All of the fireplaces in every room were not working, and we were not told this until after we arrived and checked in and tried to turn it on. I called down to the office however no one was answering, so we went down and only then were we informed. We were refunded a small destination fee. Also, the rooms are not clean. No towel to use as a floor mat, grime in the shower and carpet not vacuumed. After asking for more clean towels they gave us only one because they apparently ran out, and that towel was dirty. The stairs are rusted and looked precarious and the elevator permit was expired, and not surprisingly, the elevator stopped working while we were there. The only plus was the restaurant next to the water, and it was nice having a little balcony. Very disappointing to say the least, I will not be returning.
The Hotel was easy to locate and get to, with plenty of parking.
The front desk staff were helpful and had very good customer service, working efficiently to get guests checked in and explained clearly where our room was located and where to park, as well as the amenities of the hotel. It was also nice that there were numerous hand sanitizer dispensers in the lobby, as well as in the elevator.
Our room was nice, a bit on the small side, but fine for our stay. Unfortunately the room was not as clean as we would have expected for the price. As soon as we walked in we saw there was a sock on the floor, left by a previous habitant, which immediately raised the question that if the cleaning staff missed something so obvious what else had been missed. There was also visible dust on multiple surfaces, like the phone, and bedside tables. Other than that, the room was passably clean; the linens seemed fresh, and the bathroom was clean, although there were a few hairs in the shower.
We thought the fireplace would be a nice touch to add a cozy atmosphere for our winter stay, but it’s lackluster sputter of flames when it was active didn’t add much in reality. Not a deal breaker, just a bit disappointing.
The addition of a fridge and microwave, while essentially expected, was still appreciated to keep out snacks and drinks cold.
The room did have a nice partial view of the lake, which was lovely, especially as fresh snow was falling to look out through the flurries and see the lake.
Overall the stay was average; it was an decent hotel room at a bit higher rate due to its proximity to the lake.
