Santa Marta is small city. Down town built by 4-5 blocks.
Out side of the old town you can find chain hotels as big buildings.
But if you are looking for something special to stay is Cada de Leda.
It is Very nice and unique hotel building.
Terrace is very nice to sit back and relax.
Location is few steps to down town.
If you want to go to Taganga beach takes 20 minutes by car, if you want to go to Rodadero beach takes 20 minutes as well.

Casa Verde is well located in the city center of Santa Marta. Very close to the beach, buses to Tayrona National Park or Minca. The biggest advantage is the atmosphere. Casa Verde is a boutique hotel with very nice and friendly staff. Rooms are cozy and spacious. They served delicious, varied breakfast.
Very nice hotel. Very good breakfast in the restaurant down the street (1 minute). Finally something else instead of eggs and arepas.
After check in we got some complementary fruit juice and water.
There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Nice bathroom though not perfectly clean.
Pool was under maintenance when we were there.
Very good value for money. They just provide a little more service than similarly priced hotels and that makes them stand out in my opinion.
Very good place to be a cheap place. There may be prettier hostels but if this what you can afford you will be satisfied. It was very clean, I didn't see insects or dirt, and the breakfast was great. Seriously, I was impressed by the breakfast, a king's breakfast. You can rest very well because it's quiet. And they treat you nicely.
Very nice hotel in central area. Value for money is right on. Stay here comfortably. Breakfast is made fresh. Staff including the front desk people were polite and attentive.
Incredible property, room was perfect and bed extremely comfortable. All the staff were very helpful and cheerful. We will most certainly be back when visiting Columbia next time. Thank you to the team for making our last days in Santa Marta so enjoyable
I stayed at La Brisa Loca a total of 4 separate times in my stay in Colombia - it was impossible to stay away! The staff are awesome, food great, and vibe unbeatable. I spent my 24th birthday there and have absolutely no regrets. Thanks so much La Brisa Loca! I'll be back
An old casona near the renovated Santa Marta heart. You will find, not easy by the way because the facade blends perfectly with the neighbors, 6 cozy rooms with a marvelous bathroom. A tiny pool under a majestic old tree and a comunal table to have your complimentary breakfast, go with the cayeye by the way. If you can, ask for the premium room, the "azulina" it has a pretty balcony to catch some sun.
Placita Vieja's location won my attention, it sits facing a park ( parque de Los Novios ) I needed a clean safe place to sleep before my four day backpacking trek to the the Lost City. I also appreciated the variety of restaurants in the area.

The hammocks and pool on the roof are very nice too, we hung out there for quite some hours :)
The rooms were clean, and the breakfast was good too, although not a lot of variation.
Great hotel for a good price. Clean, spacious rooms, with mini kitchen.
Breakfast was good - not too small, not too big, with options to order additional from the menu for a reasonable price. Served on the terrace, by the pool.
Pool is small, but clean and great addition to the offer.
