Placita Vieja's location won my attention, it sits facing a park ( parque de Los Novios ) I needed a clean safe place to sleep before my four day backpacking trek to the the Lost City. I also appreciated the variety of restaurants in the area.

We loved this hotel. We had a junior suite which was spacious quite quirky very comfortable with a very nice balcony overlooking the square. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the cook made the best scrambled egg ever! Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Our stay in Placita Vieja was excellent. Jesús and Geraldine were great hosts, they helped us book a day trip to Minca, which was fabulous, and made sure that everything was perfect during our stay. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. Although we were in a busy part of town (especially weekends) we didn't hear anything from our rooms. The sauna and the pool were very refreshing and the breakfast was very delicious.
If you are looking for an oasis away from mass tourism in Santa Marta, where quality and individuality are in the foreground, this is the right place for you. At the pool you can relax perfectly, the location in the middle of the center lets the guest dive into the lively life of South America. All employees give their best to satisfy the guest. We travel a lot and attach great importance to quality. We'll be back.
Wonderful hôtel and the best services ever. The breakfast was the most delicious we did in Colombia. Jesus is very professional and took care of us really well. I definitely recommend this place.
