The DoubleTree in Liverpool lives up to the luxury one would expect from a DoubleTree. The hotel is both stylish and elegant. The lobby feels welcoming and upmarket. The welcome was warm, and the standard double room I had booked made me feel like I was being steeped in a little pocket of luxury.
The only minor downside was when I wandered into the hotel restaurant, after battling the Liverpool rain, with my rain-soaked jacket and backpack, I was told there was no soup when I asked the maitre D'. Unfortunately as I went to check-in to my room, I was annoyed to see a sign on the reception desk with today's menu.... first item: The Soup. This made me feel a little annoyed and unwelcome.
However this little misnomer aside. The stay was fabulous and the hotel was clean, luxurious and just excellent.
Staff were lovely at first, was welcomed really nice however there was marks on the bed, food on the floor, the bath had scum in from previous stayers & there was hairs in there too. I had money taken out of my account for staying past the check out time which is fine if I was told about this before hand, there was no mention of this on any emails and we were not told of a check out time when we arrived or anything on booking emails, when we asked the receptionist if we could get a refund she was a bit rude and didn’t make us feel the most happy about our stay. the spa was supposed to be open too that was our main reason of going and we got told on the arrival it was closed. Very nice hotel just not up to the standard We thought and wasn’t the most comfortable stay in. Bed was comfy though just dirty
We stopped for one night to brake the journey to Scotland.
Great location, beautiful building and everything else you'd expect from Hilton. The staff were very pleasent, looked very well after us - big credit to the company!
I don't smoke nowdays but loved the fact that there's cigar garden there. Peeked through the door and this too, was nice, not a trace of a bad smell, usually associated with this activity, lingered there.
The only hiccup for me was the shower tray in the gorgeous bathroom, but staff assured it will be looked into.
The room, as everything else was stylish, with biiig and very comfortable bed! Everything you might need is in the room, no need to call reception, very convenient.
Didn't have time to dine in the restaurant but I expect it would match the rest of my experience.
I loved it! Would happily stay again next time I come to Liverpool.
Stayed for 5 nights. Staff were excellent and must say Debbie in the restaurant was brilliant. She was warm, friendly and attentive and looked after us all with nothing too much trouble.
In these Covid times, the hotel went the extra mile and made it an exceptional experience.
Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for taking care of us
It was a city break. I always stay with Hilton doesn't matter where ever I visit. It's a trust and I can't think there is anything better than Hilton. Hotel was in the right place right in the town. It was beautiful inside too. Building was old and amazing. I'll stay here again in the future
