Reviews from visitors:
Our room was very nice - newly renovated and very neat! The outside of the room might look a bit faded but it gave an interesting historic feeling. The hotel’s tiled terraces leading from the reception to the pool area gave a slightly European feeling set in an Australian garden. Wild kangaroos showing up in the morning and evening time were nice surprises.
The man-made beach and pool looked very nice and especially great for family with kids. A quiet place for a tranquility stay avoiding the buzz from the tourist beaches.
I haven’t had the chance to stay at the resort, however last night I attended the IC for a Fever Candlelight Concert of Chopin’s greatest works.
A stunning candle lit footpath to The Grange set the scene for a magical evening and was so lovely to walk through the resort to the location of the concert.
The pianist performed beautifully and the evenings storm created a mood suited to an evening of classical music.
Definitely would love to stay at the resort and see it in all its glory during the daytime.
Reception staff were friendly when calling for parking information and upon arrival for directions on where to go.
Fabulous evening.
We stayed last weekend on a locals special with 2 other couples and rate the facilities, staff and hotel five stars. We had the best time and nothing was lacking. We had early check in, late check out, full breakfast and a bottle of red wine in the package. We thought being on a special that we would only get a basic breakfast but there was about 12 different choices from the menu plus juice, fruit, Danishes, tea and coffee in a beautiful restaurant with top notch staff. The room was spotless and we had a wonderful sleep on the king bed with marina views from the bedroom window. The pool was warm and being tidal with a sand beach different from your average resort pool. We highly recommend this resort and hope to take advantage of the special if it comes up next year. Well done Intercontinental.
This is by far a 3 star hotel at best. Garden view rooms stink of mould and actually have mould on the ceilings. Cockroaches were one of the first things we saw in our room. Once opening the curtains we were greeted to a view of scrub. No garden, just dirty sand and a man hole to go with it. Breakfast was lovely but not worth the 40 minute wait. The onsite steak restaurant was a real let down. Tough and dry is the only way to describe the short rib and the two mains, pork and steak, tasted like they had been left in a drum of salt to cure for the ride across the pacific ocean. To top it off there is nothing like pouring your own drinks for the evening. Upon leaving today we were served burnt coffee. The pool area is lovely and the staff are friendly, however, as stated not 5 star and not worth $396 for a Saturday night.
Reception staff were friendly. However much to say about concierge and their food for a five star hotel. Nothing great about their food. Breakfast was a mandatory booking for in-house guests. Pizza took long and was bland. Conceirge weren’t helpful. Although one guy who brought our stuff on check in was the only nice one. we got charge more than $100 deposit because we ordered room service and still got charge for the room service. Basically double charged us more than our actual bill. Really weird system. I was surprise to see charges in our card without being told first. Lovely resort. Just needs so much improvement on service
