We loved Baia Azul hotel! Clean, beautiful hotel with lovely views from both mountains and ocean view rooms. They have a free bus which takes you to the town. They also have yoga, gym, sauna and more free activities (But sauna was closed due to covid). Staff members are super friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious and fresh. And more importantly, they have adapted strict and responsible measures to prevent the spread of covid19, which made us feel safe being there. Highly recommend it!
We loved our stay here. A week before Christmas, it was a fantastic fusion of sunshine and Christmas spirit in a hotel that was far from full, but not lacking life. With space to spread out over the vast complex (we kept finding exciting, new and under-populated facilities every day), masks in all the communal areas and plenty of hand gel around, it all felt very safe, so we were delighted we took the gamble and escaped the dreary misery of the UK. The staff were great and the prices for eating and drinking on site were very fair, especially considering we got a great breakfast every day as part of the room rate. The junior suite was ideal for two adults and a toddler, due to the helpful sliding door to separate the bedroom and living room. We hope to come back again.
The Vila Lusitânia has just undergone a major renovation. However, I am not sure whether the guesthouse on the hillside of the capital Funchal would have needed that at all. Everything is immaculately clean and well maintained. The terrace always looked like it was freshly polished and although there were plants everywhere, not a bit of greenery floated in the pool. Our room was perfectly big enough for two people and had a balcony with a sea view. All of this (if required, breakfast for 6.00 EUR) and an incredibly friendly service are available for an incomparably low price.
Absolutely wonderful hotel. Beautiful old villas set in gorgeous gardens. Rooms are stylish and comfortable. Buffet breakfast served in the conservatory is delicious.
A very nice hotel! Clean, well positioned (beach, natural swimming pools, shopping centre) with underground parking and good food. We will definitely book it again.
Excellent hotel. Staff very pleasant however maintaining professionalism and efficiency. Food excellent and lovely touch inviting us into the a la cart restaurant.
