Very good vaIue at £64 for New Year's eve in Funchal. Up near the end of the sledge run, so near good places for panoramic views of the amazing fireworks display.
We didn't stay at the Hotel but had a quick lunch here after riding the toboggans. Excellent meal with an equally attentive waitstaff. We are planning to return to Madeira next year and will be staying here for that duration. Rooms seemed to be clean and tidy!!!
As long as you have reasonable expectations, this place offers fantastic value for money. Clean, large rooms (mine had a balcony and an ocean view), lovely welcome and, to top it off, a breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean. Impossible to beat at 5 times the price. An easy 20min walk to the center of town, but a taxi is obligatory for the return. If I'm lucky enough to return to Madeira I'd definitely stay here again!
