We loved the breakfast experience - outdoors on the patio with views of the city. The breakfast is real value for money and has everything you could want, made to order for you. It's great to be able to sleep in when you're on holiday and still have breakfast available by 12/1 PM!
The hotel is close to town as well, although you might still need to drive there as the roads can be quite steep if walking. Room was spacious with a comfy bed, and with great sunset views from the garden view room.
Only negative - was happy to see a coffee machine in our room until we were told that each pod was 2 Euro! Very strange as most hotels provide in room coffee for free. Anyways, you can visit the nearest Pingo supermarket and pick up an entire box of pods for 4 Euro and use those instead of paying 2 Euro per pod.
If you're arriving by car for the first time, call ahead when you're about 5 mins away as you need the garage door to be opened by the staff. There is no place to wait on the road as it's a small two way road. Once you check in, you will get a garage remote.

Beautiful boutique hotel with great and attentive staff. They don't have a restaurant/bar but they are walking distance away from an area full of those, so it's fine. Magnificent breakfast!
The ArtIn Hotel Conde Carvalhal is one of the nicest hotels i have stayed in. It has very friendly staff and the atmosphere is very relaxing. We had breakfast every day which has been very good and through daily options we had a nice variaty. You could ask the staff for anything and they would help you out.
