Nice old building, but that's about it, and it's a shame it could be a great hotel. The place is quite tired. Wall paper peeling off in places, or badly fitted in the first place. The bar was closed the whole weekend. Breakfast service was diabolical, egg station doing one guest at a time despite there being two burners, so everyone's waiting a long time. Nobody on the service stations for the food, had to resort to walking around the back to serve myself. Coffee was terrible, basically just hot milk, couldn't taste any coffee. Had to ask multiple times to even get it. No salt and pepper on the table. Juice was some awful bright coloured fake flavouring stuff. The food that was available was also not good. Very surprised to see an Accor hotel operating to such a low standard.
The place could excellent, I hope the management see this review and take actions to improve the service and F&B offering, if they do I would happily come back, but if they don't I'll be looking for other venues for my next trip.

It's really ethnic hotel with all the atmosphere you can see.
Just a little bit note for breakfast please ask all the guest to come to the food place to wear the mask just to make all the other guest feel more comfortable.
Been to Jogja many times, and always tried new hotel because i haven't found a firm choice. This time i will surely get back to this hotel for next visit to Jogja. This is an old hotel, but i found that the staffs were very helpful. Stayed for 3 nights, get an upgrade and a late check out. Things to improve perhaps about the breakfast. A bit standard breakfast for a m gallery hotel. Could improve a lot on this one.
I love colonial architecture building..the Phoenix is very best architecture building, nice to stay .
best food, have a swimming pool , an also a historical tree in the back restaurant..love it
