There are a few nice things about this place such as the view from the rooftop pool and very comfortable beds.
However, this place is definitely not worth the price. There are other similarly priced hotels in VT that are much better.
The restaurant and food quality at this hotel was disappointing. The facilities are very dated and the decoration is very old and stale. The furniture in the rooms is cheap, the TV is old and you can’t connect anything to it. There is barely any space to put your belongings away, so it would be difficult to stay here more than a couple days.
Also, the customer service is terrible here. They completely ignored our request for vegetarian dishes at breakfast, and when we asked for chopsticks one night they said they couldn’t because the restaurant was closed. We had to get a manager involved to get a simple pair of chopsticks for food that we had brought back to the room.
There were 2 of us staying, and they barely prepared the room for 1 person. There were only 2 hangers and 1 set of toiletries.
Finally, the checkout process is long and unnecessary, even though they make you pay for everything up front (room, bike rentals, etc...). They also tried to make us pay for the motorbike twice.
This place is definitely a let down and it is not worth the rates they charge.
A nice place with fantastic sea view rooms and a wonderful roof-top pool and bar. Heads up - weekends are family heavy with tons of kids all over the place. Most of the staff was wonderful, tho the housekeeping staff in the day time seemed unpleasant and unwilling to accommodate even our smallest requests. (Please keep the curtains shut in our executive suite - it helps keep the room cool while we are out!)
This is the 3rd time we have stayed here, and I am sure that the COVID pandemic has helped to create specific challenges in the hotel industry. But was sad to see a definite lack of food choices available for any mealtime. The spa is also closed, so no chance of massage onsite.
Still - we like this place and the staff who are friendly very much, and are glad to return.
There is only one chance to make a good first impression. CAO hotel missed it during our unpleasent check-in. Room was spacious and clean. That's all about 'hospitality'. Breakfast was cantina style, nothing else at CAU and surroundings.
I had such a bad experience here, the room is not too bad but the key wasn't working properly I have to come down to the reception to reset the key multiple times. I was planning to extend for 2 more day but the last day before the extension the reception is actually pissing me off , calling me at 10:00am while I was sleeping asked me to leave the room and move to another room cause they have to clean the whole floors. Such a disorganization and unprofessional.
Amazing hotel. The swimming pool is impressive. I love the minimalistic here
