Really great hotel. 3 nice pools. 1 heated. Great kids club. Food very good, breakfast buffet everything you expect. Staff really friendly and helpful. Good mix of couple families, golfers. Stayed in 2 bed apartment. Near marina good for restaurants and shops. Would return.
I hope The Lake Hotel Villamora Portugal reads this review,(Graca.. Blue & Green group)... I booked a weeks stay in March to come to terms with the sudden death of my mother at the end of February due to a knee replacement complications.
My dates were 12th-19th April 2020. As we all know the corono-virus caused holidays to be cancelled and advice not to travel abroad due to UK lock-down on the 23rd March 2020.
I have sent numerous emails to The Lake Hotel and Booking.com to sort out my £1200.00 refund. I am so frustrated that it is now nearing 6 months and I still have no refund, although, this hotel refunded my daughter last week for exactly the same booking. On a positive at least she was refunded.
This time away was to help me, the hotel doesn't know the reason for my booking but I do hope they read this and show some compassion due to my circumstances. I am sure this is a lovely hotel to visit but sadly as a company to deal with I do not recommend. I have since received another email this morning for a booking in April 2020 this year? yes confusing isn't it. I have sent another email this morning stating I cannot come in April 2020 and just want my refund. Is it too much to ask?
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this amazing hotel. The service was fantastic with friendly helpful staff throughout. The food was excellent, there were plenty of choices for vegetarians, vegans and other nutritional requirements - especially at breakfast. The bar menu portions are generous, as are the drinks measures, which are served with snacks. I used the Blue Spa everyday; it has a larger pool heated to around 28 - 30'C (good for swimming), during the family time 10 - 2, the jets are turned off. There are two spa pools, around 37 - 38'C, and two steam rooms - Turkish and Roman - as well as a sauna. You can relax on the plentiful loungers and chairs. It's best to visit in the bathrobe provided, as lockers are for those having treatments. a range of herbal teas, water and towels are all provided, and there's no extra charge for using this facility. The artificial beach pool looked a great safe place for families. There are lots of places to lounge around the three pools. The staff regularly check if you need any refreshments and again towels are provided. The water was a little too cool for me to swim there during my stay. The grounds are beautiful, with walking/ running trails, lots of wildlife around too.
There are some great places to relax around the interior, checkout the balcony of the Zanzi Bar and the Jaipur tea room. The hotel has bicycles for guests to use, again no extra charge. Upon arrival, there was fruit in my room, everyday a large glass bottle of water, and chocolates in the late afternoon. There's a happy hour in the sports bar with a 30% discount on certain drinks. In the spacious rooms, there's plenty of storage, a mini bar, safe, coffee machine, kettle, hairdryer, separate toilet and balcony . The materials used are natural, which enhances the health and well-being aspect. The televisions have useful information, TV, paid movies and radio channels. They run a supervised children's club from April, however families can make use of these facilities at other times, which included a playground, a sports pitch and an indoor games room. I would definitely return to this place, it deserves the five stars.
