Loved our stay in this hostel, very neat and organized. We had a very pleasant stay here not knowing the commute would be difficult from the Island side. The general atmosphere was amazing, the rooms were clean and comfortable and you have an amazing view over the Venice especially during golden hour. The location, although the view is amazing, is a bit off, and you alwaya have to travel by boat, but with a "Rolling Venice" ticket for 28 euros for 3 days, it was easy and fast to get to places like San Marco. Overall, a great hostel.
Comfortable hip place to stay under a budget! While attending the Venice Film Festival, I stayed at Generator for a week. Good coffee, attentive staff (Alberto, David and Sarah were always there to address my questions). Only two vaporetto stops from the departure of the special line for the festival goers. Had the most amazing view... On the downside, bathrooms were slightly dirty when I arrived, and during the night it rained and the roof leaked. Right after I mentioned it to the staff, they took care of it. Also, a bit noisy during the evenings, but nothing out of the expected. Recommended!
Best hostel I've stayed in yet, and I'd say I'm a pretty regular traveller.
Looks fine, experience was shoddy. People were sleeping in beds not assigned to them, and corona rules were not enforced. Staff, while nice, was severely overworked and made lots of errors. Great location, but the looks were just a facade.
I didn’t make the most of all there is to do at the hostel as I spent as much time as possible on the main islands, but the beds were comfy and clean, receptionists very friendly and helpful (and 24h which was amazing), and it was great to have such a nice view outside to sit and have a morning coffee (and very fresh croissant!). The lockers were also very solid and massive. They’ve managed to spread people out through the dorms well during COVID so I wasn’t ever very concerned.
A couple of issues - The main light in the dorm didn’t work, and the shower curtains opened directly into the bathroom area so if you opened it to get your towel from the hook you risk flashing everyone, which is an odd design choice.
