1 Novecento Boutique Hotel
images
This is a well positioned and welcoming boutique hotel, owned by the same family as the Flora. Lots of exotic and luxurious furniture and decoration and the bonus of air conditioning. Not expensive by Venetian standards in a quiet street. Lovely breakfast in small flowery courtyard. Handy for nearby Campo San Stefano, which is a relaxing place to drink and eat, plus one of the best gelateria in the city
2 Ca' Pisani Deco Design Hotel

Beautiful, loved it. Room fabulous, bathroom lots of sparkly marble. Lots of interesting items to look at, special exhibition of old toys when we were there and display of ceramics. Breakfast superb. Very comfortable. Location very central. Service excellent. Highly recommend.
3 Hotel L'Orologio Venezia

images
A beautiful hotel!
Close to the vaporetto. That December it had a pristine feel and we felt like we were locals.
The front desk staff was supremely welcoming, professional, and gracious.
Morning breakfasts were fresh. Absolutely the best we experienced in all of our hotels there in Venice.
The location is an easy walk to Piazza San Marco.
The rooms were fresh and new. The hotel quiet. I would love to return as soon as travel permits!
4 Rialto Unique Venice Experience

images
Location ! Came here for four nights to explore Venice. From the airport we took the ferry to the Rialto stop. The hotel is SO close to the ferry spot. You will appreciate this when you see others pulling luggage over big staircases and bridges. We were greeted right away. All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There was ALWAYS someone at the front counter.
The view of the hotel is literally looking at the Rialto bridge and the canal. The location couldn’t of been better. We did come during rainy season, so one morning the lobby was actually flooded but it only lasted til about noon.
They offer complimentary breakfast which had cereal, eggs, bacon, breads, fruit, juices, and fresh coffee.
The rooms were all nice and the bathroom was spacious. The WiFi works great too.
This is a great place to stay !
5 Corte di Gabriela

images
We visited Venice in March and we were lucky enough to stay for 2 days at Corte di Gabriela. The rooms are modern and the breakfast is to die for (ask for the omelette with vegetables - heavenly). We stayed in a double bedroom facing the alley so we did hear some of the people passing by but that was a small sacrifice compared to all the great things at the hotel. The staff were wonderful and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend this place in Venice. It is in an area away from the crowds but close enough to everything you want to see.
6 The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Venice

Great views looking out on to the grand canal. Food was very tasty and very well presented. Well worth a splurge
7 Santa Croce Boutique Hotel

images
What a magical place. Beautiful rooms, absolutely outstanding breakfast, and the location is superb - close enough that you are near everything yet quiet enough that you get away from the tourists. It was my girlfriend's birthday and I asked the staff for recommendations. Little did I know that they would engineer what would end up being my girlfriend's favourite birthday. Thank you to the staff! They were truly welcoming, outgoing and filled with great recommendations. A must if you decide to stay in Venice!
8 Hotel Olimpia

images
Fantastic family run hotel which is owned by Best Western.
We were checked in by a lovely young local gentleman named Andrea. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and very pleasant.
Location is superb for the train station and ferries and from the thick of the more congested parts of town.
Rooms are compact but quite elegant.
Breakfast is very substantial and very well done.
Highly recommended.
9 Charming House DD724

images
We recently stayed at Charming House and for me this was my second time. The name is appropriate as this hotel is more of a house with just 8 guest rooms but with the amenities and service of a luxury hotel.
In some ways I hate to write a great review for fear the hotel will get too busy and loose its charm. However, I am confident that the level of service will remain top notch as it has for the last 8 years since my last visit.
Thanks to the team at Charming House for making our stay all the better.
10 JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa

images
It was great, everything about it made you feel like you are in Venice but kind of on the expensive
11 Hotel Mercurio Venice

images
The hotel staff is extremely friendly. The breakfast bar is restricted due to virus but the waiter there is so fast and polite getting everyone's orders done as fast as he possibly can (jogging back and forth). The hotel is in a great location no matter which way you go in the city it's usually a 10-15min walk back. Perfect for shopping and dropping off bags or coming back to take a quick nap in between sight seeing. Great prices, good room, and an absolute amazing and very tasty full breakfast. Cannot recommend this hotel enough
12 Hotel Danieli, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Venice

images
Very good hotel, right next to San-Marco Square. Beautiful interior. Some parts from the XIVth century. Staff are very attentive and professional. Large and clean rooms and bathrooms. Large and amazingly comfortable beds. The breakfast is great and so is the view from the 5th floor terrace. The bar downstairs is perfect for a drink from the large selection too.
13 Hotel Antiche Figure

images
Amazing hotel at the Grande Canal.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is, considering Italian standards, really great. Our room was tidy and had some venetian furniture.
The hotel felt more like 4* or above rather than 3*. Therefore it is an absolute bargain for that price and a must-stay at Venice.
Thank you so much for making our holidays something very special
14 Axel Hotel Venezia

images
We were so happy with our hotel stay, the friendly efficiency of the staff and the amazing breakfast! They spoke English well (since our Italian was lacking). Our rooms were very clean and quiet. Can't say enough good things!
15 Al Ponte Antico

images
This is absolutely the only place you should stay in Venice. From the location, the gorgeous rooms, the owners and atmosphere, everything was perfect. Right next to the Rialto bridge in a beautifully renovated palazzo, complete with a balcony to have the best scrambled eggs you will ever taste or a drink, overlooking a sprawling view of the Grand canal. The 9 rooms are absolutely spotless, comfortable, spacious and decorated beautifully, no detail is forgotten.
Best of all is the owners and the staff of the hotel. The whole team made this one of, if not the best hotel stay of my life. From the second you walk in the hotel, with a warm friendly greeting and a tour, to amazing recommendations for visits and small, delicious restaurants. You can see the owners are very passionate and proud of their hotel and they have reason to! They truly anticipated our every need, knew our breakfast order by the second day, and did everything they could to make our stay unforgettable. We will absolutely be back!
16 Riva del Vin Boutique Hotel

images
The staff were very helpful in recommending good restaurants. The hotel is beautiful and clean. And the location can't be beat. Absolutely wonderful.
17 Hotel Indigo Venice - Sant'Elena

images
The staff is the highlight of this hotel.
Everyone was very accommodating and professional.
It is, however, let down by small details - e.g. while the rooms are newly renovated, the coffee facilities are lacking to say the least.
The rooms also lack curtains in the bathroom, into which can be clearly seen from outside while showering.
On the second night of our stay, a thunderstorm meant rainwater coming in from the windows, highlighting again the shoddy quality of the recent refub (we had to move rooms).
The breakfast quality could also be better. As it stands now the offer is of very low quality, with croissants and cakes which are clearly bought pre-made.
Overall it is a nice hotel, however the rates are way too high for the offering, as it is usually the case with IHG's Indigo Hotels.
18 Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo

images
Fantastic hotel! Me and my partner spent 3 nights here for our first trip to Venice and we are so glad we picked this hotel! Amazing staff, all were extremely helpful and polite.
Hotel was super clean and tidy! We arrived in the early hours due to a late flight but the staff were very helpful and had us sorted in no time. Hotels in a great central location, highly recommend and plan to go again!
19 Palazzina Grassi

images
Really liked this hotel! It was beautiful during Christmas time. The staff was super friendly, the rooms were beautiful and clean, and you can't beat the location to get to the Basilica and roam other areas! Highly recommend booking the water taxi. It was so fun and convenient! You don't want to drag your luggage across Venice to get to the hotel.
20 Ca Maria Adele

images
I wish I could be there... Ca Maria Adele seems the very ideal place to fully enjoy Venice. The location is superb (Dorsoduro few meters from Guggenheim collection and S. Maria della Salute and Canal Grande). The small boutique hotel is a little precious gem with refined furniture and textiles where even the smallest detail reveals elegance. The view from the terrace is simply..breathtaking
I do my best to keep this list as up-to-date as possible. I last updated it in March 2025. If you know of a hipster hotel that should be on the list, let me know. Click here to contact me. Thanks!
