Reviews from visitors:
Loviing this hotel. Came here during our visit to Japan as we strolling around into up to 3 hotels&apart. This is our last and best of the best hotel so far. Compares to our apart in Shinjuku and hotel in Osaka, Cotoha located more than 1 km to station. But.. we never regret it. Stayed in family room in the ground floor.. supeer comfy with full body bath tub and high-tech bed.
They have onsen in the rooftop with additional price.
For moslems, you should stay here since there are many halal resto around. I also find a cheap market near Ueno station
Will be back after this pandemic gone!
Room was super small. Couldn't even unpack suit-case. No warning beforehand. Clean though. Helpful staff. But the room was not small, it was microscopic (!).
Highly recommended if you want to stay in a super compact hotel. It's very small but extremely clean and updated. The staff was very polite and professional.
Design: 3/5 not memorable but functional
Room practicality: 2/5 tiny tiny rooms, even by Japanese standards, impossible to open a full-sized suitcase
Room comfort: 4/5, good beds with decent pillows
Bathroom practicality: 3/5, small bathroom with barely any space to store toiletries
Bathroom details: 5/5, consistent hot water, everything else working as expected
Amenities: 5/5, good towels, slippers, private hot tub on the roof that can be booked for ¥500
Staff: 4/5, ok English
Location: 3/5, about 12 minutes from the nearest subway station, but beyond that quite close to Ueno, one of the most underrated neighborhoods in Tokyo
WiFi: 5/5, good bandwidth, no filter
Breakfast: did not experience
Summary: practical albeit small hotel somewhat conveniently located if you’re not carrying a lot of stuff
Location: Somewhat hidden, our cab driver had a bit of trouble finding it. But once you get used to the streets it becomes very easy to find. Location is great, walking distance to UENO Station, roughly 9 min walk. This is good if you are taking the sky train from narita airport (25 min ride, will cost you around 25 usd). Shopping district is only a 7 min. walk and offers a lot of merchandise and restaurants for you to choose from. Also close to a Sakura Money Exchange (best conversion rates in town, no fees).
Accommodations:
1) Staff:
Right when you walk in staff will greet you, very friendly, all awesome and helpful. Most are fluent in English, if you are still not able to communicate properly, then download the google the translator app to help you out.
2) Rooms:
Rooms are very lovely and clean, but one drawback. They are extremely small if you are used to larger size hotel rooms. There was not enough space to put my luggage so i had to put it on the second bed. If you are planning to have more than one person in the room, upgrade to the suite because your luggage alone will take a majority of the space. Regardless of room size, they were able to fit in your own bathroom and shower, a definite plus. Pillows and bed were pretty hard, so if you're not used to these type of things you will be uncomfortable.
3) Hot Tub
They have a rooftop hot tub that you can enjoy. Reservations only unfortunately because there is only one.
4) Perks
The goody bag they give you has a lot of necessities that travelers need, toothbrush and paste, comb etc... Free wi-fi that is faster than a majority of the hotel wi-fi I've experienced. They also offer a pocket wi-fi rental that is cheaper than what you will get at the airport. I wish i knew before hand. They offer breakfast for a small fee between, 5-10 usd (didn't really eat breakfast there because there are so many restaurants close to you).
Verdict: All and All, my stay was wonderful regardless of the small room.Just from the service of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel and location it is definitely worth the stay.
