1 Taormina Hotel Villa Ducale
images
My partner and I enjoyed a celebratory 1-night stay at Hotel Villa Ducale in a suite with a terrace and sea views, and it was definitely an experience to remember. We loved absolutely everything. The views are breathtaking, the breakfast was the best we’ve had in Italy, the suite (room 5) was charming, luxurious and very comfortable, but most importantly, the service from Daniele and the entire team was impeccable. We felt like we were being warmly welcomed by family and from the time of booking (before we even arrived) and throughout our entire stay in Taormina, even after check out, we were extremely well taken care of. The hotel’s shuttle service was very useful for getting to and from the main town but there is also an option to get to the main town by foot in about 15-20 minutes via stairs (with more views!). If this was not our first time in Taormina, we would have been perfectly happy to have stayed at the accommodation enjoying the suite, the views from the balcony, the pool, and the onsite restaurant. The team went over and above to make sure our stay at Hotel Villa Ducale and in Taormina was special and memorable. It definitely left a lasting impression on us and we would stay again in a heartbeat!
2 The Malandrina, Taormina

images
Cozy apartment equipped with modern facilities from coffee machine to electronic curtain. The level of comfort beat most of the hotels we stayed in south Italy. We loved this apartment. One big advantage for me is, unlike other apartments, they have a staff sitting in office (from early morning to evening) so you don’t have to schedule appointment and get keys from landlord. Location was good enough. There was a small staircase next to the property that lead you to the old town in 3 minutes or so. There’s no elevator in the property. We got the largest room which was actually two adjoining apartments. There were 2 double beds and 2 sofa beds in total.
4 Hotel Villa Taormina

images
A beautiful little boutique hotel with beautiful gardens and stunning surroundings. The rooms have old world charm and have very large and comfortable beds. Excellent location to get into the main areas but still far enough away to enjoy the quiet. We had a difficult time finding the hotel and would suggest a more detailed explanation about its location be given upon confirmation. Staff were lovely and incredibly helpful - would recommend this villa 100%
5 Villa Zagara Garden

images
We have been to Villa Zagara Garden about 7 times in the past 3 years and will continue to do so... The location is central but still cut off and secluded... Waking up to those views in the morning feeling that fresh grass in your feet is an incredible experience that i never get tired of... the apartments are kept extremely well and clean. Place is perfect for families or large groups - Massimo the host is incredible, hospitable and just simply a great guy. You'll see us again soon.
6 Maison Blanche Taormina Luxury B&B

images
Beautiful B&B with lovely accomodations. Fantastic views in all directions with multiple areas available to drink in those views. An abundant breakfast and amazing, friendly staff always ready to assist.
7 Relais 147

In the main walk of Taormina this intimate relais has something magic.. A must stay!
8 Villa Taormina Almoezia

images
Lovely place, great host Sebastiano, very helpfull and nice, very good breakfast and wonderfull view. We will definetly come back.
9 Hotel Casa Adele

images
We were supposed to spend one night only in Taormina...but upon the moment I've contacted the hotel, I immediately understood that this will be a unique experience...therefore we decided to stay longer. The hotel is perfectly located, few minutes away from the beautiful Corso Umberto.
Mr. Giuseppe, his sister Manuela and the entire family have worked to hard to restore this historical house and they did it it amazingly. The hotel used to be Giuseppe's grandma private house, that was converted into a pension.
The hotel is tastefully decorated, mix of ancient and modern. Bedooms are spotless, very well equipped (including AC) , spacious, bright and comfortable.
When you enter into the breakfast room, is like steeping back for a moment into the past. The breakfast buffet is rich and complete. Don't miss the opportunity to taste the cakes (crostate) that are daily backed by the uncle of Mr. Giuseppe and the fresh squeezed orange juice made with the organic oranges from their garden.
The entire team at the hotel has made our stay unforgettable, helping and finding a solution for any request we submitted.
Thank you Giuseppe, Manuela, Tina and all the team for the fantastic stay : we promise you we will come back !
10 Casa Cuseni

images
I don't have words for Casa Cuseni - truly one of the most wonderful houses I have ever seen let alone stayed! The rooms, gardens and museum are so steeped in history and breathtaking, and the view across Taormina from the Greta Garbo balcony is second to none. On our first night we sat on the balcony and watched lava flow from Mt Etna, a once in a lifetime experience. We loved that the house is a little above the tourist epicentre of Taormina but the perfect place to access everything. Magdalena, Maria, Francesco and - apologies! I have forgotten the lovely chefs name! - were so warm and friendly. If we had our time again we'd book more nights here. Highly recommend and then some.
11 Hotel Villa Carlotta Taormina

images
Where to begin...
The rooms are beautiful and incredibly comfortable. Little details are never missed.
The breakfasts were fantastic and my goodness, what a view. Etna one side and the Mediterranean the other.
The staff were next level, so helpful and always so friendly. We bumped into the hotel owner and his daughter who I think now helps to manage the place... what a lovely character.
Should we return to Sicily (and I really hope we do) I will not stay anywhere but here. Magic!
13 Hotel El Jebel Taormina

images
Had an amazing dinner here loved the place ambiance food and overall the restaurant
14 Charming rooms Villa Le Terrazze

images
Excellent hotel with an amazing view on the Mt. Etna and Taormina. Staff was incredible and helpful and went out of their way to make you comfortable. Special thanks to Carla for a very warm welcome, Claudio for driving us to town and Jacky for an amazing breakfast. The shower is amazing. Will definitely come back and can recommend this hotel to anyone!!
15 Isoco Guest House

images
Had a magical stay with my family at Isoco Guesthouse. The owner is exceptionally thoughtful and very helpful. The guesthouse has incredible views over the bay and the rooms are amazing - mine was Keith Haring themed and probably the coolest place I've ever stayed. I would definitely go back!
16 Grand Hotel Mazzaro 'Sea Palace

images
Fantastic hotel and restaurant, private beach and all staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. Surprise upgrade as well as we have just got engaged. Highly recommended!
17 Grand Hotel San Pietro

images
A real 5 star hotel. Magnificent views from the sea facing rooms and the sun terrace. A free shuttle takes you up to Taormina old town. The same shuttle can take you back as well but you can just walk back downhill -- it is slightly over 1 km from the central square. Mind that there is no beach nearby and using the ones the hotel takes you to is expensive.
19 Isola Bella Infinity Suites

images
Amazing location, stunning view from the private infinity pool!
20 B&B Villa Antonio

images
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary. This is a special place, the views from our room were breathtaking. The room was very clean, fresh, bright and traditional Italian. The hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. They were able to accommodate our request for gluten free breakfast options. I highly recommend B&B Villa Antonio if you want a nice romantic getaway.
I do my best to keep this list as up-to-date as possible. I last updated it in February 2025. If you know of a hipster hotel that should be on the list, let me know. Click here to contact me. Thanks!
