The High Tea was not quite like their publicity photos. Two stars for a reasonable venue. Note the white tablecloths in my photo. Overall the event lacked class. The staff tried hard; they were very polite but needed better training in the finer points of service. Using teabags and no teapots was very disappointing. The scones were thrown on the plate and were more like rock-cakes. The sandwiches looked like something you might buy for lunch at the deli. The event was prepaid as a surprise birthday so it was rather embarrassing to having the menu displaying the cost of the event as part of the setting for each guest. When staff were alerted to this being an issue, they didn't even understand that it was a problem. Furthermore, their response to justify their position was a further insult. Overall, very disappointed.
Probably the best hotel in Sydney. My partner took me here for our 1 year anniversary and it was the most delightful experience. Would definitely recommend for anybody looking for a little Sydney get-away (and for tourists too)
Been coming here for years. A good value alternative to city 5-star hotels. Staff standard not as good as it used to be, particularly in the restaurant, but overall a lovely experience. The rooftop is lovely on a sunny day.
Still the best hotel east of the city. Always recommend my friends stay here, and lost count of the magical events I've been to in these ballrooms.
As a frequent visitor I just love the food and service and ambiance.
