Don't book this hotel! Housekeeping stole money from my room!
On the second day of my stay (July 2020), I left my room in the afternoon to go to the beach. I only wanted to carry some money with me, so I left the rest of my cash, between 250 and 350 PLN (60-80€), on the desk in the hotel room. When I came back a few hours later, the room had been cleaned, and the money was gone.
Since nobody else had a key to my room, the only way to explain this was that housekeeping had taken the money. However, I thought this would be an outrageous accusation to make, so I decided to test it the next day:
The next day I left a 20 PLN note in the chair before I left the room at 12:30. When I came back, that money was gone too! I went to the reception and told them the story, and 30 minutes later the cleaning lady had admitted to taking the money, and I got the 20 PLN back. Obviously, this confirms that the cleaning lady was indeed the thief, and there is no doubt that she also must have taken the money the day before.
When I checked out the morning after, I talked to the front desk manager again, and I was promised a fair compensation and an email confirming it during the day. Alas, all I got was an email from the General manager a couple of weeks later (after several reminders), saying that he didn't want to compensate me since I hadn't called the police, and he also pointed out that his staff was very well trained, so this could not have happened, despite the evidence I provided.
AVOID THIS HOTEL!
Doesn't match the standards one can expect.
- 3 times asking to get soap refilled
- no Sauna towels
- Spa area way too slippery
- blasting (and bad) music during breakfast
- no PCs for customer use
- didn't take into consideration what we asked for, so we got a room on the first floor with the massive hotel A/C right in front of the whole window wall
- 1h late check-out cannot be authorised by the receptionist at 11p.m. but only manager
After seeing so many bad reviews I was quite worried about staying at this hotel but it's not nearly as bad as some of the reviews make out. I agree that it is much more like a 4-star hotel than it is a 5. For a 5-star hotel (especially for this price) I'd expect a coffee machine in the room, the choice of pillows, toiletries and professional staff. The staff were all friendly but not always aware of the services (a management issue) or forth coming. I wouldn't stay at this hotel again and for me it wasn't great value for money but it was also far from being bad.
The restaurant at 7 floor (Avoid it)
- Stuff is undertrain and poorly managed. When in the evening one of the staff members asked about local beer (Dobosz), didn't know anything about and even sweets that are sold by Dobosz.
- There was the fire alarm which was triggering a few times during my stay at the restaurant which staff treat is as normal behaviour and this is happening many times in the month with non-reasons...
- Restaurant is open at 12, and for a 1-2h I needed to listen to disco polo music from speakers and not really enjoyed my lunch and beer
- Ribs where burn and not tasty with some tomato source, which probably would cover it to make a better impression.
The SPA&Wellness (Avoid it)
- I think the hotel has only in name SPA as the quality of service is really poor
- Candle massage and whole body peeling were done by someone who probably never was trained of doing such stuff.
- Room is small and not really prepare to be feeling relaxed
Overall only breakfast was good but in total, I would give hotel max 3 stars as 5 is a joke
Bed was supercomfortable, bathroom was great, pools area is decent and we were invited to one homebrewed beer.
Disliked · I didn't feel safe in terms of COVID measures. Rooms look clean and the reception and lounge bar is properly organized for safety. The restaurant and the elevators were a different story. People were hoarding for the food, everybody touches the serving spoons, food doesn't have shields covering from sneezes, tables aren't cleaned between groups of people using it. Also, we were supposed to have balcony to the sea but we were facing a forest. No hotel in the town (except the Hilton) is in the coastline because of Poland natural land protection measures, but we didn't even have a view. Also, the mosquito situation in the area is critical, prepare all the lotions you can. Hotel installations are great, but location wasn't optimal, walk to the beach takes a while. I was hoping for more value for the price.
