This place really surprised me. Yeah, the rooms are a little small and dated, but everything was super clean and they had some nice little details... like shampoo/body wash dispensers in the shower instead of wasteful little bottles and a black makeup towel so I don't get mascara on the nice white towels. It's not too far away from downtown, only about two miles. Overall, a really nice stay and would definitely come back.
Great bang for your buck! Came up on a busy weekend. Rates were great. Front desk had tooth brushes (I forgot mine) and a cork screw for opening a bottle of wine. Hot tub was open (needed to make reservations) and the room was clean and perfect for what we needed.
Very happy with the choice to stay here.
The late night staff member who greeted us and checked us in was nice and efficient. Make sure to get there before 11p on a weekday to get checked in. You can contact them too if it's after, but the scheduled front desk time is until 11p on a weekday.

We stayed 1 night at the Steamboat Hotel, and it's everything you need for a quick night in the Boat...Sean who works the front desk was amazing, and so helpful. We were totally content with our stay....it's not a boujee, beautiful 5 star hotel. It is a functional, dog friendly, happy little spot to spend a night or 2 right next to the resort.
Booked a room for my wife and I to come out from Denver for her birthday to go to Strawberry Hot Springs. Called the hotel to see if checking in early was an option due to us bringing our dog and our 2 hour time slot for the hot springs being from 2-4pm ( hotel check in is at 3pm). Spoke with a gentleman at the front desk on Aug 4th around 7pm. He informed me that early check in was impossible. I asked what time check out is and he replied 11am. I proceeded to inquire as to why we wouldn't be able to check in at 1pm. I was informed that Saturday is their busiest day and that its impossible to check in any earlier than 3pm. He stated that the cleaning staff likes to wait till all the rooms are empty so they go go one by one to clean them. I again stated that i was coming down for my wife's birthday and would appreciate any help with earlier check in, to which I was told again that its impossible. I decide it would be best to wait till the morning and speak with a manager. I called on the morning of August 5th and asked to speak to a manger. The front desk employee told me the manager (Laurie) would call me back, its been over two hours and i still have not received a call. its apparent to me that customer service is not a priority at this hotel. Its unfortunate because my wife and I were really looking forward to staying here but had to cancel the reservation and go to a hotel where it wasn't "impossible" to get an early check in.
