This used to be our favorite place to escape Reno but this last visit was disappointing. The bath didn't stay full because the bottom drain wasn't able to suction down properly and the fire place wouldn't come on and room was a cold. It also be nice to have a mircowave. Other than that the rooms romantic and clean, shower is great with good pressure and you can watch DVDs.
Definitely overpriced on the suits. We have been here for 3 days. The bed is so uncomfortable and falling apart, we haven’t slept much we wake up in pain. The couch converts to a bed and even that is lopsided. I called to get some new towels and I had to go to the next building to get them myself. We tried to enjoy ourselves outside by the fire pit. A guy drove up in a car all crazy thought he was going to hit us. So we scurry back to our room to watch this suspicious person. Come to find out he works here their handy man. I would honestly like a refund or something done. Not happy. Plus there is black mold forming on the walls.
The place was ok. We checked in pretty easily and the room is clean. We were greeted by two swans as shown in the picture. The room appears to have been renovated except for the AC unit from back in the old days. Sort of like buying a Tesla vehicle with a cassette player. Cassettes provide music, but hard to find cassettes of everyday hits today.
Everything was great until the evening around 8pm when it’s shower and jet tub time. A couple minutes into the shower, the hot water ran out. It didn’t change to luke warm or cooling down. It just changed from warm to cold instantly.
I tried to call the front desk but the room phone doesn’t work. I used my cell phone to call and spoke with the front desk attendant and he said the hotel was booked out and many people are using water and the hot water ran out. Give it a couple minutes and try again.
Thirty minutes later, the water was still very cold and I called the front desk again. He has asked for more time but I asked for better directions since I haven’t experience hotels being out of hot water. His manager called back 10 minutes later to explain that their boilers are working fine and just be patient and wait a couple more minutes. Basically, if we don’t want to wait, we can leave and go somewhere else. In South Lake Tahoe on a Saturday at 9:45pm, there were not many options to move to. We waited and 10 minutes later, magically the hot water worked and it was back to normal.
I tried to put the pieces of the puzzle together and realized that I should of check with the front desk before reserving if they were conserving hot water. Maybe they had turn off hot water for my room to save a buck?
Remember to check with them about hot water usage if you decide to stay here. Other than that, this is a great place to spend the night.
If your searching for a clean romantic room close to south city and beaches this is the place to come. I frequent Lake Tahoe multiple times a year for decades and this was the first time I found a place I wanted to come back too because of its cleanliness level. Not to mention the staff are just amazing. I could not be happier for the service. They were able to work with me and make my stay worthwhile. I could not be happier!
This is an update to my most recent review about the property. After placing my negative review which I have the right to post a review to let all you people know how shady this inn is. I am re writing another review to let you know what happened with my case with no hot water. The property now is refusing to refund even $100 when I payed $878.00 for two nights and during my stay I had no hot water I tried contacting the property multiple times and no one was available to help me with my issue. I then contacted booking which they tried contacting the property and no answer. They refuse to refund a cent because I left a negative review on their website. Imagine all the people that were forced to not leave negative reviews because they needed to get accommodated. Well I’d rather let all you guests know just how this inn works with their guests. I hope this review helps all of you decide if you want to risk the stay at this inn for even one night.
