2 Adella Boutique Hotel

Nice apartment on the 6th floor. Very modern, with an Italian restaurant that serves tasty food
3 Hotel Central Point Boutique

Super sweet night shift receptionist who was unbelievably smiley and cheerful at 2am when we checked in. 24/7 reception and they also accept payment in euros!
We got a room on the ground floor with a terrace, which was super spacious, with a wardrobe, desk, mini fridge, and sofa chair. The light doesn't reach to the wardrobe so it's hard to see in there.
The bathroom is a glass room and has a disco light in the shower which we found very amusing. However, unfortunately there was a sewage smell emanating from the sink - the plumbing could certainly be improved. The receptionist sprayed something into the sink drain to help with the smell. Water temperature and pressure for the shower was perfect.
The bed is low to the floor (about knee height) as are the bedside tables but you get used to it. The bed itself is springy and soft, and the quilt is down/feather is so super warm and light that you can sleep naked! The bedsides are missing lamps, meaning you have to get up from bed to turn off the light.
Poor noise insulation from the corridor and you can hear vacuuming , housekeeping and reception talking if you're in the first floor. May be annoying if you like to sleep in.
WiFi is super fast!
Spa and sauna are relatively small but nice. The spa jacuzzi has a lie down 'bed' with jets and the lights change colour like disco lights (like the shower in the room).
There's a vending machine next to the entrance with chocolates, sweet snacks and water. The other vending machine is an Italian machine with espresso coffee, cappuccino, hot chocolate, milk, tea, which is great value, 90-120 leva for decent quality coffee similar to nespresso.
Great location very close to the city centre, about 10mins walk to the main pedestrian thoroughfare in Vitosha Boulevard.
4 Boutique Hotel Sofia

Nice hotel, close to the train station.
Location: the neighborhood could be scary, but it’s typical for all big cities and train/bus stations. Yes, for the view maybe it is not the best hotel.
Rooms: the room was ok, clean and spacious. If you are going to pay attention to some of the details, than I would say that the worker could have done better job. So it is important to keep the hotel in good conditions. The bed is clean, big and comfortable. The bathroom was clean. There is a desk in case you need to work, minibar was full.
Personal: Check-in and check out procedures were just regular. I arrived late after midnight, the door was closed but the nights auditor was available so I didn’t have to wait or call. Check-in was quick.
I would recommend to maintain a smoking area for your employees away from the entrance door to make sure that your guests do not see employees smoking. And maybe a uniform is a good idea for a 4* hotel.
I think I will be back again to your property.

6 Best Western Art Plaza Hotel

Very nice hotel. They helped us giving some useful information we needed about buses. Good breakfast too.
8 VIKO Boutique Apart Hotel

images
I haven't stayed there but I give five stars for the care they take of the green patch adjacent to the hotel. The management repaired the area and maintains the trees and grass. There is never a load noise from guests and it is a please having VIKO in the neighbourhood.
9 Les Fleurs Boutique Hotel

Lovely staff, very friendly and helpful. The location is exceptional! Very near the metro station from the airport and is on the boulevard thus close to a majority of shops. The room is SUPER clean with all amenities included. The decoration is based on flowers thus the name “fleurs”. Highly recommended!
10 All Seasons Residence Hotel

This place gives you positive vibes and a calm mood. It feels more private than a grand hotel and the restaurant terrace is just wonderful with it's diffuse light coming all over you during the day. The mountain is waiting for you outside your window and you breath a crystal clear air. It was really peaceful during our stay.
13 Hotel “Crystal Palace Boutique“

14 Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia

We had the luck to celebrate our wedding in Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia on 05.09.2020. From the first contact we received great service, support and understanding. The hotel offers different spaces for big and small events. The building is brand new and with no doubts this is the best hotel in Sofia at the moment. All team members are really kind, friendly and professional. They deliver really excellent service. We look forward to visiting the hotel again!

The hotel is clean. The staff is kind and offers you all the information and all the support. Breakfast is very good.

Great. But the air conditioning is for the common area and not the bedrooms. Luckily it cooled if enough at night that it was an overall great time.
18 The Embassy Bar & Suites

Located at the best neighborhood in Sofia. brand new designed specious suites.
Great service, took care of any of our needs.

19 Hyatt Regency Sofia

Best new spot in the capital! Great modern twist on traditional italian cuisine!
There is a rooftop bar as well, with some of the best views that the city can offer. Take a seat near your own private fireplace with a tailor made cocktail and enjoy the night away!
20 Magic Castle Hotel

The best hotel I've been to, and highly recommended.
The owners are Armenian who made me feel extremely welcomed and felt the personal touch. I was leaving for day trip before the breakfast time and they kindly offered me a takeaway fresh homemade baked breakfast.
The location is very easy to reach. About 3 mintues walk from and to European Union metro station (they did share with me transportation tips through email before the visit). There is also a small mall about 5 minutes walk to get Sim card, exchange money and buy some grocery.
I requested to change the room for another smaller room and they did immediately. I was in room 107, the size is extremely convenient for solo traveler and very clean.
Extra feedback: When I was hungry and didn't know where to get food from, Ilyan from front desk ordered pizza for me which was very nice.
I do my best to keep this list as up-to-date as possible. I last updated it in April 2025. If you know of a hipster hotel that should be on the list, let me know. Click here to contact me. Thanks!
