Reviews from visitors:
I've stayed here twice, once in the heritage section (the front, low section) and once in the new section (the back and upper floors).
Both rooms I stayed in were quite small (the newer room especially) but honestly, I wouldn't expect anything larger in this city at this price point (I booked the cheapest room both times). Rooms in the newer section were quieter (as face away from the road, and newer built), while the rooms in the old section do get a bit of street noise, but I didn't find it noisy enough to disturb my sleep.
Both sections were clean, if a little worn, with comfortable beds, good amenities (in room fridge, fast wifi, safe, slippers, desk, etc.). The small pool on the roof is nice, too.
The neighbourhood is fab - amazing food everywhere you look, and convenient to everything.
Prices vary depending on how busy it is, but are reasonable most of the time, and sometimes you can get great deals.
Like what other reviewers have mentioned, this is first and foremost an economical hotel. The rates are just quite hard to beat in this area, where other hotels are at least 2x the price.
It definitely is more functional than enjoyable, with its location being an amazing place. Walk out and great food is just around all the corners.
Recommended for groups of max 4, and also if you don't mind a lack of facilities. Lacks a laundry room. Rooms are slightly on the older side and the wear and tear is visible.
Love this place. The staff r friendly n the room is great. N price is reasonable
If you're looking for a quiet hotel this is not the one.
this hotel host foreign Myanmar and Bangladeshi workers
avoid the balcony rooms. there's isn't much a divider. whoever is talking to next door can be hear loudly even after u close your sliding doors. People playing music and talking after 1am. had to put on earphones to sleep. hotel staffs should avoid talking or chitchat outside hallways to their colleagues as it can be heard loudly inside the room. Construction noises can be heard at 11am in the morning. paid nearly $400 for 2 nights.. will not return.
nice place with a plethora of things to keep you occupied.
