Delightful getaway during a difficult period. Staff are accommodating in providing late checkout. Breakfast, although not buffet as it used to, was satisfactory and filling. Room is quiet, clean and modern.
Location-wise it's right in the middle of a park within reach of several prominent city area, providing both accessibility and yet the quietness and seclusion.
Room was clean and housekeeping was on time. Great facilities in the room. AC was adjustable. The bathtub was such a fantastic add on. Quiet during weekdays. But expect more noise during weekends, esp if the room faces the venue area. Check in and out processes were very smooth! Love the swimming pool. Great pool size to people ratio. The breakfast was surprisingly good or maybe we went without expectation. If you book directly with hotel, you can get a drink with canapés before dinner time. The service staff were working 100% to make sure that our orders were in place. Special shout out to Jonathan who went the extra mile to cater to breakfast request! Thank you!
On arrival we were greeted by friendly and attentive staff who showed us the way to the room. The professional service from the staff continued to impress for the rest of the stay! The city view room with a nice big bathroom with a view was impressive, as was the king size bed and high cielings. The hotel is classic colonial style and you'll leave feeling refreshed
Just check in a 2 night stay with my wife. Disappointed by the customer service does not live up the their prestigious brand name. It could be a flaw in their system/process as well. Was given an allocated timing to check in and upon arrival the staff mentioned it was a first come first serve basis. Doesn’t this defeat the purpose of an allocated check in timing? Staff told us that they will monitor which guest arrived first which is ridiculous how can they be so sure? Indeed there was a couple who arrived later than us and was served first. Staff then said it’s because the couple is extending their stay. I definitely don’t think that is a reason for them to cut queue. Please look into it and live up to your branding.
Was there for a staycation end 2020. Having a colonial building in a unique location is a huge selling point. Place is beautiful and well maintained and the pools which use filtered water are amazing. You won't have chlorine smell all over your body even after 1 hour in the pool.
The bad part is they are banking so much on these points and their monopoly of Fort Canning that they neglect the service part. So don't expect first class service of top tier hotels. Service recovery policy is non-existent. Delayed check-in of a full hour, no updates, and greeted by an apology and offer for a cup of tea. After an hour. Asked for extended check-out instead and was given... 15 mins. Not sure how they intend to win return customer but then again with the monopoly of Fort Canning, they don't need to.
First class infrastructure, third class service.
