Such a nice and charming little place. The room may not have been 5-star, but it was adequate and the thrill of walking around these beautiful buildings - that was 5-star. I can't wait to come back.
A very late review (actually stayed July 2019) and intended on returning this year. Our first place to stay in Spain and what a way to start our holiday. The hotel is full of character with the beautiful patios, plazas and tunnels linking the collection of buildings. I think the stonework and mood lighting lining the tunnel walls deserves mention, just amazing. Great room (we got a wee upgrade) and the rooftop pool was a perfect way to relax before dinner (spanish time!). Location is perfect. Hope we can stay next year.
Amazing hotel with so many different areas and secret passages to discover, very unique, I’ve not stayed anyway as exciting. Lovely patio to relax on with a coffee and cake after a mornings walk around the city. Room was very comfortable and the staff very helpful. Can’t recommend enough.
Numerous courtyards and passageways separating the various buildings comprising the hotel make for unique and charming surroundings. Great location. But the room itself did not match the price. Slightly dingy and rundown feel. There is practically no WiFi in the rooms (the signal is so weak), but it works well in the breakfast room and the piano bar. There's no ability to make tea or coffee in your room and seemingly no complimentary tea or coffee elsewhere in the hotel. In short, not bad, but not great value.
Really this is a 10 star experience. Was a bit above our usual $ for hotel but with bonus from our booking app we splurged. By far the most amazing place I’ve ever stayed. The gorgeous courtyards filled with lush landscaping went on and on. Not to mention the below grade passageways that were like walking in a roman ruin. Then the stunning topper of a rooftop pool and bar with city views to die for. All this and just steps to the magical barrio Santa Cruz.
