Fantastic location as others have said. We’ve stayed here twice over the last three years and would stay here again. Cafe in the basement is no frills but it’s nice and quiet and they sometimes have live jazz on a Friday night. If you can get a room on the tenth floor looking out at the old neighbourhood get it (room 1 on tenth floor ☺️). Great value for $$.
I've wanted to stay in this hotel for years. It's in the best neighborhood in Seoul. The staff is extremely kind. Highly recommend it!
Went to Seoul in May 2019 and stayed 3 nights at Markers. Overwhelmed by the kindness from the staff. First time in Korea and Seoul, does only speak English and had a little difficulties to buy a metro-card, since the store owner only spooked Korean. The staff in the reception followed me to the store and helped me to buy the card. Talk about kindness and service above all.
The room was very clean and cosy. The location around are charming. Close to the old areas with small stores, cosy place to eat and drink. Just a short walk from the major attractions.
for the price we paid, it definitely worth 5 star. We love the retro hipster kind of design and the friendly receptions. It is very near to some very good local shops. 10 minutes walk to Changdeokgung, 15 minutes walk to Myeongdong and 20 minutes walk to Gwanghwamun. or else, the metro is right in front of your doorsteps. The only downside was slight noise can be heard from the street at night. If you are travelling alone or with a friend, you could consider this since the room. is just nice for 2 person.
You can't go wrong with staying here. Direct access to the station and across the street from the coolest shopping / eating district in Jongno - gu. Rooms were spotless, air quality was excellent, fantastic shower and top notch customer service. I extended my stay from 2 days to 4 days just because I was so comfortable. Lots of drinking and eating options in the neighborhood as well!
