I had the pleasure of staying here for my birthday. It was a dream come true. The entire staff were professional and accommodating . They went above and beyond with the hospitality . I can't put into enough words my gratitude to them all they made my birthday very special.the room was so clean and beyond words beautiful. I recommend everyone stay here at least once in there lives just to experience the history it provides with all of there art. It's like a museum you get to live in. So unique and rare. Just an all together wonderful experience.

Hotel is gorgeous, old victorian era furniture to seal the experience. Rooms are small but quaint and beautiful, you're submerged in history and the staff are extraordinary and absolutely amazing, friendly and accommodating. It's a secure, safe entrance into the hotel with a paid parking area across the street, would recommend paying for the parking so no need to worry about finding or losing a spot. We couldn't be happier with our stay, so far the best experience in terms of stays in San Francisco so far.

Far beyond my expectations! The whole building is spectacularly charming! The hotel is made with thousands of surprising decorations and thoughtful objects. Louis from the reception is very helpful. Five stars are not enough to express my gratitude.

Loved this place! The room I stayed in wasn’t huge, but it was definitely comfy and worth the $135/night. Loved the bedding, it was so fluffy and cozy! And the bathroom was huge (it may have been a handicap accessible room though...), the shower had two separately controlled shower heads, and marble floors and walls (I think). Very nice. I enjoyed my day.

Funky boutique hotel in nob hill/union square area (great location, safe). It's quite large and has a really nice downstairs lounge and multiple sitting areas so good for traveling groups to congregate.
Luis the manager is super nice and hospitable. It was no problem to get an early check in.
The rooms are mostly from the 70s - lots of flowery wallpaper. But, very clean, the bathroom was new, and had all the basics.
Great value to be had here, nice staff, a clean and safe stay. I recommend.

Convenient location from the airport and I am so amazed at the service here. The breakfast buffet is amazing and provides so many western dishes. Kevin provides us with spectacular service and very attentive to our needs. We enjoyed the quiet stay in our hotel room with clean sheets and towels. WiFi is also very fast. We look forward to staying here again in the future!

We stopped by here because we were visiting an attraction in the area. This location was nice and had great service. Everyone was friendly compared to New York, where people aren't as openly nice. We tasted some courtesy water, infused with fruits, which was refreshing after coming walking around these SF streets. Liked the place. Would recommend

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. We enjoyed the location and the hotel was elegant, clean and its staff very friendly.
We stayed in one of the upper floors. The king-size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom spacious and clean.
We had a great view to the City and not to the bay, which was perfectly fine with us.
The hotel in general is old but nonetheless very clean and elegant. We would definitely come back to stay here.

The staff are incredibly helpful and kind. Thank you to Katherine, Maica, Charisma, and Agnes are angels. We stayed here so that our father can conscience from his cancer treatment. They were so ready to help. They made our stay very comfortable, easy since it was a difficult time for our family. Joyce the Director of Operations, we are very grateful for you and your staff.

It’s been a number of years but this property is my favorite in all of SF. I imagine they kept all of the staff over from its Monaco days. They were always the kindest of the 9 properties I’d hop around the Union Square area...

I stayed at the Phoenix for the second time this week and I couldn't have had a better time. First, the staff were friendly AF (thanks Isabel, Jamie and Orlando!) and made sure that we had everything we needed. Every room has a fantastic view of the courtyard which is genuinely an oasis (an overused word to describe hotels for sure, but in this case, you feel like you've gone to Palm Springs). The heated pool allowed for some evening soaking even in 60 degree weather. The rooms were comfortable, stylish, and spotless. While I'm a San Franciscan, this place is one of my favorite go-tos for brunch, dinner on the weekend, or a staycation by the pool.

Cute boutique hotel close to Chinatown and Union Square and a short walk pretty much everywhere else. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly and the rooms are clean and inviting. (although on the smaller side... but that’s SF~)
Just a quick shout out - upon arrival the woman working the front desk was assisting another guest. Rather than waiting by the door, the gentleman working (Jackson at valet I believe) was kind enough to step in to assist. Doesn’t go unnoticed. Thanks for a great stay!
