Reviews from visitors:
It’s been a number of years but this property is my favorite in all of SF. I imagine they kept all of the staff over from its Monaco days. They were always the kindest of the 9 properties I’d hop around the Union Square area...
I stayed at The Marker twice for overnight stays while seeing shows at Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. It's within walking distance of the venue, which is good if you don't mind walking through sketchy areas. The service was very friendly from the people at the front desk, but I am disappointed in the hotel overall.
The main appeal of the hotel is its quirky San Francisco Victorian charm, which is unique and quaint but also strange and somewhat tacky. They only have coffee and tea instead of a breakfast, except at their restaurant (where you have to pay).
Room cleanliness is fine, but the furniture is somewhat worn down. The rooms are smaller with fewer amenities than you would expect from a "4-star boutique hotel." They do give you a "free" water bottle and earplugs when you check in, though, which is nice.
FYI the location is very sketchy, tons of people living on the street in the surrounding area.
Beware the hidden fees. There is NO PARKING whatsoever. If you're staying overnight, you'll have to pay 35-45 dollars to park at one of the neighboring parking garages. Also, the hotel charges a $35 hotel fee (nonrefundable) and puts a $100 security hold (refunded if no room damage) while you stay there.
Overall, I'd say it's worth a stay if you're into quirky boutique hotels, but the novelty of it wears off after the first visit.
This hotel was so perfect for a girls getaway! It’s so cute inside and has a nice restaurant inside. I wish we could have spent more time here.
The hotel reminds me of Kate Spade and it’s so cute!
Gorgeous, clean, and very quiet hotel. The staff was very welcoming and emphatic to their guests needs. They even have water and food bowl for pets to grab a bite outside their front door. Even our pets are considered. Highly recommend. They gave us a complimentary gift upon arriving as well. And in the morning the house keepers made sure to knock and say hello several times to double check no one was in our next door guests room. They didn't have a door sign so they wanted to be considerate and check instead of just barging in. Very good service. There is a la carte breakfast and an Italian restaurant connected to the restaurant. They also have wine hour downstairs and in am they serve coffee and tea. Very thorough service. 10/10
We'd meeting rooms at the Marker Throughout JP Morgan at Jan 2020. The staff were quite helpful and the assembly rooms were nice. Special shout out to Benjie Gaitos at reception who seemed after sending our belongings back to us. He went back into the chambers and found that the bag we'd forgotten and sent it too
