Reviews from visitors:
El Cordova is one of my favorite places for my family to escape to!! The rooms are spacious and the location couldn't be better!! It's a quick walk across the street to the beach and a ton of restaurants including a delicious Mexican restaurant on site. The team there, including Tim and Benny, are just fantastic!! They've been so helpful with booking reservations, and making us feel welcome upon our arrival.
Such a quaint and unique hotel! We were immediately greeted and checked in by the general manager who was so pleasant and friendly. Our 1 bedroom suite was upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite which was absolutely beautiful and perfect for our group. Unfortunately, we were in such awe that I did not take pictures of our suite, but there were two rooms with a queen bed in each room, one bathroom (kind of small but had everything we needed) a nice sized living room, a dining room with a good sized table with six chairs and a full size kitchen. They provided all the essentials for the kitchen, otherwise you can call the front desk for additional supplies if needed. We woke up to a basket left at our door with a restock of towels, bath items, toilet paper and small kitchen supplies...without needing to ask!! The pool is heated comfortably for the cool nights. Restaurants and coffee shops are connected just a few steps away along with being located near other restaurants and shops on the main road. The beach was within a short walk, make sure to check out the sunset!! I am coming back to this hotel very soon!!
Stepping into the El Cordova, is as if, you were stepping into another world. It, simply said, is world within Coronado, a world that, for a moment takes you back to the 1902 Coronado, when this hotel, or at that time mansion was built. There is truly no other place in Coronado, or California like it.
Staying with, not at, the El Cordova, as they treat each guest like family. Is an experience we should all have and understand in order to understand Coronado. Where we came from is where we are going, the El Cordova boasts it’s history, adds a little family, and adds a little love to the mix.
The staff, no matter what level, are respectful, understanding, and most of all loyal to its inhabitants, loyal to the town, the history it came from. Being a resident of Coronado myself, I don’t just appreciate this hotel, I appreciate what they offer to the community.
No matter how time changes, lives change, the El Cordova brings the past back to light for all of us to see and enjoy. I’ll always be grateful that this staple in the community exist, to remind us all not just about our history, but about our love, our culture, and what we all have to offer. Not only for Coronado, but for any community each and everyone one of us inhabits.
We got head lice from room 119 ... that all that is needed to be said about this establishment. I would not recommend staying here if you don’t want to get bugs in your hair. Cleaning standards need to be better..
A truly great experience in a historic hotel. Highly recommend. Plus the Mexican place (Miguels) is GREAT! The white jalapeño cheddar sauce is FIRE!!!
