SCAM ARTISTS! If I had the option to give it zero stars I would. DO NOT STAY HERE.
I arrived and was greeted by a nice man who took me to my room. I unpacked while he was working on fixing the air conditioning. He then informed me that he needed to move me to another room (not a problem for me) -- the B&B only has a few rooms anyways. We went to another room, and again there was a problem with the AC -- so he brought me to a 3rd room. This room was SLIGHTLY larger than the other two rooms, but by no means ANYTHING special. The AC still did not work -- he said he would have someonw fix it within 30 minutes. I was not worried and headed out to dinner. When I returned it was not fixed -- still not a HUGE problem for me. I was very nice and told them not to worry (they assured me the following day it would be fixed). It was never fixed -- again NOT a big deal. Although it was quite loud because the restaurant below that they run is open 24 hours. The morning of my departure I went to check-out at 12pm (apparently check out was at 11:30). The "owner" was now there and he told me I owed an additional 65 Euro (I had prepaid the 2 nights for 120 Euro). I asked why? He charged me 40 Euro for an UPGRADE (WHAT), 25 Euro for late check-out (again, I was only 30 minutes past check out and after all the problems I had, and i had not complained ONCE I could not believe he was charging me because I was 30 minutes past check-out), the "hotel" was also EMPTY and I had been woken up several times throughout the night because I was unable to shut my windows (with no AC). I told him I never had an upgrade, but because the man who checked me in was not there he did not believe me. I explained that I had been moved 3 times -- that the AC never worked. He yelled and was rude and intimidating. I don't speak very good Italian, so I had my male friend, who lives in Salerno meet me to speak with him -- I assumed perhaps I was NOT explaining correctly what had happened. The owner was rude, loud and obnoxious. He called me stupid and threatened me verbally. I almost phoned the police, but decided it was best to just leave. The place is a complete SCAM. The rooms are "decent" at best, not very clean, but if you are looking for a cheap bed to just sleep in, then the price is right -- until you check out and they add on an antlers night worth of false charges.
Nice location and a reasonable price, but the hotel is not in very good shape and the noise from the lively street gets to the rooms quite loudly.
Stayed 1 night only. It is not a hotel but a b & b. The bedroom is spacious. But the dirty balcony. Never cleaned. The shower is full of fouling. The stairs leading to the dirty rooms sn Entrance after the front door never cleaned. The room overlooked a pub .. So you can't rest and sleep until 4 in the morning .. The only great thing is the delicious pizza ..
I'm sorry, excellent location for visits and certainly large and clean room, but in a building on the edge of dilapidated, room passed off as a higher level (and paid for that) and smelly (sewer rising in the blind bathroom). Advance payment without the possibility of viewing the room. Staff not very helpful. Not to be repeated.
