Immaculately clean, great location. Fluffiest towels I've ever seen. Comfortable beds with nice lightweight duvets. Great outdoor space. We've stayed here 4 times, once in an Inn room and in 3 different cottages. All were very comfortable.
Had an amazing time here. Sunset inn and cottages will change the way you book your next trip. We spent 4 days in the Lookout penthouse, room was very clean and designed and decorated very nicely. It really felt like it could be home. It's right across the street from beautiful sunset beach, 5 min walk if you want to fish (I caught a snook) absolutely no traffic or noise. It's just the best way to experience the island without the hustle and bustle of the town. Thanks again to the team that treated us so great, we will definitely be back.
So I should start off by saying 2 things
1) I don't normally write detailed reviews but definitely wanted to after our trip!
2) STAY HERE!!
After a last minute change of plans and impromptu trip to Treasure Island, my son and I managed to somehow snag suite #4 at Sunset Inn only ~24 hours before we jumped in the car from Michigan. I was honestly just expecting a spot to sleep and not much else.
We were completely blown away when we arrived. Even when we made it there normal check in time and in that stage of travel where your brains no longer functioning...I never felt like my questions/unfounded panic over how to use a key (hint you just have to turn it...) was a burden or an inconvenience. Instead were met with kindness and concern to make sure we got into our room ok and were settled without any issues.
Now once we got inside the room... WOW!! It's the perfect mix of vintage beach charm and modern convenience. Even when my 17 year old was delegated to the futon sleeper he didn't complain since it was actually really comfortable!
The attention to detail is literally in every single piece of the Sunset Inn property and really shows the love and dedication the staff have, for not only their guests enjoyment, but the history and preservation of the space/buildings itself.
Add in the location being just steps from the beach... seriously book here if you can! We had a relaxing and honestly just an overall amazing time; which let's be honest is not easy with a teenager.. We definitely plan on making another trip as soon as we can!

I love these cottages and love this location! We stayed in the Vino cottage and loved how clean and bright the space is. The bed is very comfortable and it's so nice to have a kitchen in the cottage. The outdoor showers are such a nice addition when you arrive back from the beach and it's so convenient to have chairs and umbrellas available with the cottage rental. This is definitely my favorite beach in Tampa Bay, so the property is unparalleled in location. Sandra and Laurie were friendly and so helpful. The cottage comes with two keys and I managed to lock them both in the room, oops! They were super accommodating and quick to get me back in. Thanks so much for a wonderful experience, I can't wait to come back and stay again!
