Amazing view of the bay of Guanabara. Drinks and food on the pricy side. The cocktails are delicious but drink them fast because they add a lot of ice and you will end up with a watery drink. Service was excellent.
While the rooftop is nice we made reservations specifically asking to be seated so that we could view the sunset instead we were seated at a table where we could see 4 drunk girls badly singing karaoke to music from 2008 that the DJ probably had not updated since. Another table opened up twice and we were told they were still in use or could could not be used and they stayed empty the entire time we were there. The drinks however were good and there was no denying the view, but make sure you eat ahead of time because food options are lacking too.
The stay in the hotel itself was good. The location of the hotel, the view and the rooftop bar are definitely pretty nice. But they booked more money than confirmed during the booking process from my credit card account. Being intrusive by complaining at the check-in, again complaining at the check-out and again complaining by Email afterwards only led to the promise that they are willing to pay me back the money by two different staff persons. After 6 months now, still nothing happened, I got no response to my last Emails asking for the status. So the service seems to be pretty good at doing shiny stuff, but not at doing basic work.
Maybe an important information for german guests, all my Email sent from gmx.de were filtered out by their mail server. Gmail worked well.
A great hotel , good service , great bar with pool upstairs and a fantastic view of Sugar loaf Mountain and the Crist.
Nice hotel, nice view. Concierge could be better informed. I asked where to rent a car, they did not have a formal partner. They recommended the airport. I went to sdu and they did not have a car available. I wanted to do a hike to see the park serra dos orgaos they did not seem to know where that was or have any connection, they did tell me they would call and find out but I did not hear back from them. Overall a good hotel tho with a little improvement could be a truly top tier hotel .
