Mario and Blanca are amazing people. We stayed for 2 nights and felt at home. The roof top terrace is great for wine that you can purchase in the lobby. The beds are comfortable, clean and very modern but in an old building. Breakfast is great and every recommendation they made for food and entertainment was wonderful.
Great rooftop bar with fantastic views of the historic center and the virgin statue on the mountain. Their cocktail selection is limited but the view makes up for it. They also have heaters in the evening, which was a nice touch.
I usually don't write any reviews, but this place is so amazing that definitely deserves one. We stayed here in early October 2020. The place is very clean, great rooms, good covid safety protocols in place and absolutely wonderful and helpful staff. Especially their manager! They helped me to solve problem with airlines, gave directions for city including places where I can buy things I needed, allowed to borrow their scale. Pretty much all requests were accommodated. The food needs to be ordered in advance from restaurant, but their shrimps to dye for. Would very recommend. The place is better than another 5 star hotel where we stayed first couple days.
Excellent and authentic Ecuadorian food. Great ambiance inside a historic hotel in the heart of Colonial Quito. The friendly service and staff were quick and attentive. Pricing is expensive (relative to the area) but it is very modest compared to other upscale restaurants.
Amazing hotel, located in the prime area of the city! The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are very modern and clean. Recommend staying here if you want to explore the amazing night life in Quito.
I had an amazing time at Rukka Lodge where I recently stayed upon coming to Ecuador. The staff and managers were great and the food as well. The rooms were very comfortable and the gardens and pool area were fantastic as well. I would highly recommend staying there to anyone visiting the area.
Stylish, excellent location for wandering in Old Town Quito, boutique hotel. Renovated with care and attention to detail, while preserving the character of the infrastructure. Fantastic room views. Would stay here again anytime!
Very cute hotel managed by one of the nicest lady we met in Ecuador. Everything is well kept and clean (she takes COVID very seriously!), the terrasse is great to relax after a day of touring Quito, and the room we got was nice and spacious. It’s not a luxury hotel, it can get a little noisy given the neighborhood, but for the price, it’s worth every single penny. It’s also well-located, coffee in the morning is delicious, and the owner is available literally 24/7. What else do you want?

First of all all the covid protocols have been followed and hotel is super clean, and recently refubrished. Definitely would recomend it during pandemic.
Hotel is strategically situated overlooking a busy city square just foot steps from hearth of historic center. Building itself is piece of art with balcony overlooking square and beautiful garden in the back. The common areas include reading/hanging out lightroom overlooking garden. Staying here made us feel so much like at home I wish we have spent all the time in hotel :-)
Breakfast is healthy, with a lot of fruit variety and yeah you could probably skip lunch :-)
Staff super professional, speaking good english and also readily avaiable to help with various arangments (transport, tours etc).
Hidden gem definitely, staying here will make you vacation special!!!
Wonderful modern hotel which had lovely clean rooms, very comfortable beds and a great view out if the window. Some rooms even have a balcony overlooking the city!
Hands down the best, I mean the BEST boutique hotel I have ever stayed in, the historical significance is evident before you enter the hotel, the view from the second floor seating area is breathtaking. Each floor has its own unique significance and is directly linked to the history of Ecuador. The most friendly staff I ever come across and the Jacuzzi in the basement is one of a kind, if you want to be pampered and want a unique experience like no other, I recommend ILLA Experience
Awesome owners. Superb service. This hotel was a great choice and I would highly recommend. We stayed in a nice private little house, and had a really.good private breakfast.
Zaysant and the hosts, Gerardo and Zara, are exceptional. Our small birding group stayed there for two nights while we were in transit through Quito. The location is convenient to the airport, and Zaysant will arrange transportation to and from the lodge. The grounds are beautiful, with flowers and trees all about, with hammocks strung in shaded spots and fountains. The flowers attract hummingbirds and other birds, as do the water and a couple of other feeders.
As others have said, Gerardo designed and built the lodge, using natural wood. The results of his creativity are beautiful and extraordinary. The rooms are lovely, comfortable, and clean.
The kindness of the hosts is best of all. Some of our party had a 12 hour layover in Quito between flights on the way home. Others were continuing from the airport, but had some warm clothes they wanted to leave in Quito for a couple of weeks. Gerardo was kind enough to keep a bag of clothes, then arrange for a driver to bring the bag to the airport when he picked up the layover folks to spend the afternoon at the lodge. Those of us waiting for the flight later in the day lounged around the lodge grounds, watched the birds (14 species, including Black-breasted Puffleg, in a casual afternoon), and napped in the hammocks. In addition (and without our asking), Gerardo offered us the use of a room and a shower without charge. We had dinner at the lodge and were whisked back to the airport much refreshed.
That is extraordinary hospitality.
We visited their restaurant on the rooftop at night and it was amazing. The food was flavorful and their desserts were yummy.

Wow! Where do I start? From the moment I arrived the accommodation was phenomenal! Safety features and welcoming staff! Our Concierge Elizabeth and honestly everyone from the wait staff in the restaurant at the hotel to the cleaning facility personal. Absolutely lovely service and we were treated possibly so well! I definitely recommend picking this hotel of you are planning a stay in Quito Ecuador. The entire staff is absolutely amazing! After visiting the Caribbean and Europe and most of the United States, South America, especially Ecuador is now on my top favorite places in the world.
