Amazing location near La Brava and La Mansa. Truly friendly staff. Rooms are good and food is great.
Wished I stayed at the hostel two blocks away for same price :(
Rather uncaring and lazy staff here, only the morning guy seems to care. So much deferred maintenance and overly unclean stuff here. Staff having a relationship is great and chill time as well, but they have so so much free time during this season and still barely do the minimum, disgusting. Paid price for "breakfast" but they don't serve. Not the worst hostel, but very disappointing for what they try to represent and their signs about how much care they take of the place.
WiFi does work okay, fast speed, the only issue is the ping and latency of each requested task.
Rooms were very cold, was told they would bring blankets and they didn't. We had to ask again hours later to get pillows and blankets. We had to sleep in top bunks because bottom ones were taken by guests the staff said. But it turns out they were not, just five days and the staff never changed the rooms!!! Laaaaaaazy
For a good vibe, service, and hygiene you can walk a few meters and be very glad you did!!!
The hostel is approximately two blocks from both of the beaches of Punta del Este. It has bar on the bottom floor which opens at 7pm and also serves as a breakfast/tv/common room and lobby. They occasionally have live musical performances and play music every night via speakers. There is a pool table, a kitchen, and a grocery store nearby. The floors are dirty. Bring your own towel. There is WiFi, but it is terrible. The current staff speak English very well.
In all the place is what you make of it. We had a great time and met a lot of great people.
The owner was great, the room we were in needed work so we were upgraded to a better room. The facilities are also pretty good. The only downside was that the bartender consistently tried to overcharge us.
Great hostel, very affordable and comfortable. They staff is great, they are always there helping you out with any kind of information. The breakfast is very delicious, mainly the "doce de leite". I would be back there for sure.
