A Perfect Palette for Dining Pleasures
An elegant and charming restaurant with intriguing ambiance. As I anxiously yanked the rope-pull-down-door bell on the big wooden doors welcoming guests, I wondered what "magical charms" lie behind it. The doors opened revealing a palette of warm colors and collection of lines, shapes and contours exciting my sensory pleasures. A muralist, my world is a canvas for my imagination, so I turned my attention to the interior colonial architecture in search of surfaces where I could incorporate my artwork. I was not disappointed. The venue offers a unique dining experience set in an aura of tranquility and nostalgia of past “tinsel town” romances that flourished here. Nestled on the rooftop is a lofty dining scene featuring 180-degree breathtaking views of Banderas Bay, where against the backdrop of moonlight reflections and serenades by a quintessential Mariachi Band, our group enjoyed a wonderful culinary experience. My dish of shrimp brochette over red sauce was perfect. The consensus of our group was the dinner was undeniably the best ever, the service impeccable, attentive and unpretentious. During dinner, however, I inadvertently stained a new linen shirt I had borrowed (because I flunked the dress code). Embarrassing myself, a member of management, rushed to my aid. She whisked me to the side, removed my shirt, sending it to be cleaned and returning it a very short time later cleaned and pressed. Thank you for restoring my pride and preserving my fond memories.
Amazing place hidden behind the door which is once open you enter this beautiful court and huge space with amazing art and designs. The restaurant got the best service and just delicious food and amazing cocktails to sit and watch the ocean and enjoy the sunset. Must visit
Stunning views of the city, a violinist that plays for you on Sunday, the most lavish breakfast spread! You must come here for Sunday brunch if you are into Breakfast! Wow. The prime rib with chipotle Aoli was incredible! The atmosphere! The breakfast! The view!
The hotel is beautiful with breathtaking views. The customer service is excellent. I stayed for 2 weeks and I wish I could stay forever. The food is stellar and they have a mariachi band that plays 6 evenings a week. I highly recommend staying there when you go to Puerto Vallarta.
Just a wonderful place. The restaurant is a bit hard to find since it’s on a very narrow street and we didn’t know if the big brown door was the entrance or a back door to the restaurant. Just push it in and you will find the hostess. From there is a big open area lit with candles setting a romanic mood. There is a set of steep stairs you have to go up so I’m not sure I’d this place is wheel chair friendly. At the top, around dinner time there is an 8 person Mexican band again setting a romantic mood and a lively fun atmosphere. There are tables by the windows so do ask for one, if available. If not, don’t worry, the seating anywhere is quite nice. The wine is quite pricy, soda pop is not refillable, and water is not from the tap. Calamari for the appetiser was wonderful served with marinara and tartar sauce. The Caesar salad was nothing to write home about which was disappointing since Caesar salad dressing was developed in Mexico. The angel hair pasta with shrimp and scallops was done just right. The filet was cooked to perfection as well. Vegetables (asparagus with hollandaise sauce was great. Not too crisp or too soggy. Overall, I would recommend this place for a family, casual, or romantic dinner. Three of us went and had a bottle of wine, which was the cheapest at $57, and the bill came to $247. That included the appetiser. Plus tip was roughly $277. I don’t remember exactly but give or take $20 US. Enjoy this place!! Oh, and the Italian restaurant across the street called, Belleview’s, is voted in the top 10 restaurants just like this place. Very good too!!
