Just spent a week in Puerto Vallarta. Hotel villa Mercedes is such an amazing little hotel. Makes you feel like you’re part of the culture. And all the workers are amazing and super nice. The breakfast is incredible and authentic. The rooms are very well decorated and it also included books which I appreciate it. Also the shower pressure is to die for. I highly recommend This location for your next Stay in Puerto Vallarta.
I have been staying at Villa Mercedes for about 10 years, The people are nice and the rooms are nicely decorated. Prices is good.

The manager lives in-house and has a very poor attitude and very defensive. He does NOT wear a mask around his staff or guests (at any time) and keeps his dog locked in the reception area during the night who barks often. The front desk closes at 5PM (even though it says 6PM) and there is no emergency number or any other way to communicate with the hotel in case something happens. Even though the pool area is supposed to be closed after 10PM, guests (and outside friends) can throw a party and disturb the other guests with no consequences. During my stay of 5 nights I witnessed 2 different very loud situations that were never acknowledged. The staff is very polite and I feel sorry they have to work for someone like him. Considering how many hotel options there are in PV, this is clearly a bad place and should be avoided. It could be really nice but not with this type of management.
We loved our stay at Villa Mercedes Petit Hotel. The facilities (the room itself, pool, cafe for breakfast, rooftop common area) were excellent. The owner provided lots of helpful tips on what to do and how to get around which made for an excellent stay. The hotel is very close to the beach, and close to cafes bars etc. without being right in the noisy area. We also loved Pinto, the dog. Highly recommend.
