Just an all around wonderful quirky hotel with incredible staff who will know what you want before you do. We loved our private hot tub and pool (we stayed in the penthouse suite but all rooms looked like they had their own unique awesome touches. The owner greeted us personally and is often on site socializing with his team and his regular customers. I can’t wait to try it under non-pandemic circumstances. It was a truly unique stay, I loved the hotel pool, I loved that it was clothing optional though I chose to stay clothed (and masked). The dancers were a fun touch to the pool. My one complaint was hot water for the shower. Two complaints - the stove took 30 minutes to boil water - so all my complaints are hot eater related. Otherwise loved it all. Definitely will go back - we were interested in a private pool more than shenanigans, but I get the feeling there are definitely awesome shenanigans here. And we had a couples spa day for under US 300 for both - massages, facials, body wraps in our suite. It was one of my favorite vacation days of all time.
Amazing pool to hang by day even if not staying there. Just have to spend 250 MX. Cozy vibe, personable staff, and welcoming fun crowd. 19 rooms total in a great layout along the side of the hill with views of the bay. Many rooms are spacious and have private balcony, some adjoining if you’re visiting with friends and others have their own private pool. Near enough to gay beach but far enough to have some privacy and quiet. Concierge Antonio is great!
This review is for the pool club that is open to people not staying in the rooms. I have no idea what the rooms look like.
I started coming here for the happy hour when they were closing the beaches at 3pm during the lockdowns. I've really appreciated coming to this place. Felix and Joshua provide really good service and are fun/interactive. The sunsets are amazing. I think it is the perfect size because it is big enough to accommodate a good number of people but small enough that it doesn't feel weird introducing yourself to everyone that is there. There is also a good number of regulars that are nice to see each week. The dancers at the Saturday pool parties are fun and have a thing for bdsm that I like. The drinks are on the expensive side for PV but not obnoxiously so (and cheap during 2 for 1 happy hour). Don, the owner, is really friendly and nice to talk to as well.
The hottub and bathrooms can also get a little
Outstanding customer service, excellent food, comfortable beds, reliable AC/WI-FI, great gym, and a staff that will go out of its way to help you navigate the nuances of MX travel. They even helped arrange our COVID tests, all of it done in an hour through a local LGBT clinic. Only suggestion would be for light sleepers to bring earplugs as the local fauna can sometimes get raucous in the nocturnal hours. Highly recommend Casa Cupula!
This place was pretty amazing....the setting and the views couldn't be better. The property is immaculate and the service is beyond friendly. We felt incredibly welcome and well cared for. The rooftop infinity pool and the main pool outside the gym were almost always empty, which made it feel even more exclusive. The layout of the hotel helps maximize privacy as nearly every room is on a slightly different level. The food in the restaurant was very good and prices were reasonable throughout the property. Our suite was fully loaded with electronic amenities, free bottled water, toiletries and high end bedding. A/C and hot water both worked fine. The grounds of the hotel were quiet, and there was no evidence of neglect anywhere in the building in spite of the brutally hot tropical climate. The gym is adequate and has a nice, clean locker room and steam room.
The hotel sits in a steep ravine so there are a lot of stairs. The walk into town is very short, but you'll pass a mountain of trash outside the hotel then cross an extremely dangerous highway. The hotel rate does not include breakfast, and this is not clearly stated. We had hoped to enjoy the jacuzzis, but they were both broken during our stay. This was disappointing considering how much we spent. There's an over-emphasis on tipping which felt awkward at check-out.
I would happily return, and would recommend the hotel to others. The positives far outweigh the minor negatives.
