Reviews from visitors:
Really great hotel. The renovations have made it a truly beautiful spot. Away from the core of the city, but still within walking distance. Some great restaurants inside, and few nice ones near by.
Highly recommended.
Paid extra for a large room on the verandah. Checked in & was told the restaurant was closed for private function & no breakfast was available the next day. No problem except our room was directly above the private function & after returning from dinner out (wet & windy night in Perth) we went to our room. The entire floor was vibrating with the music from downstairs as it was so loud & it didn’t finish till 11:45. We couldn’t even hear the tv or relax. This could have been avoided IF at check in they had disclosed that we had the room directly above, offered to move us and said what time the music would finish. We would have stayed out longer. Instead they said nothing. The next day when I raised this & asked for the manager he/she was not available. I followed up on the Monday morning hoping for a discussion about why this info should be provided to guests at check in & NEVER received a response. Complete lack of management. So, do yourself a favour stay anyway else - QT Perth or the I’m sure the holiday inn would be better than the drab and inconsiderate Melbourne Hotel
Beautiful, spacious bathroom with deep bath & quality amenities & fixtures.
Comfortable bed, plush pillows.
Better sound proofing than the heritage rooms.
Aircon was set to switch off after 60mins which was frustrating until we found the timer settings.
Great location for food, coffee & shopping options.
Not the friendliest staff but everyone has bad days occasionally, right?...
Will still be returning. The attention to detail throughout the entire building is fabulous.
Was only there for a meeting and 1 drink but the place had a nice vibe. Staff were polite and friendly
We've stayed in both Heritage and Contemporary rooms, and they're both fantastic. Service is great from start to finish. Ramen at Keisuki is delicious is delicious, and dinner at The Grand Orient is even better (try the Roast Duck mini-feast if there's two of you!). We got married at this hotel 20 years ago, and every incarnation of the building prior to this one was a disappointment, but this time they've really got it right!
