Had a very bad experience here, we booked a wine tour for a birthday party and once we got to The Colony a glass of wine for the tasting was missing. We asked nicely to the bartender named Rob if we could please have another glass. He very rudely told us it wasn't his problem and that he wouldn't serve us another tasting. He had a very rude attitude and I don't think he should keep his job any longer. Definitely won't be back as long as Rob is serving wine.
Best of both wine and brewery. A great place to eat as well. Fabulous waitress listened and suggested correct wine
Cleaners steal from room, manager covers for them! Total BS! All swept under the carpet! Not recommend this place at all! This was the last time we went there.
nice place no complaints on accommodation BUT their payment process is ridiculous, they take your room accommodation amount PLUS $100 bond on arrival (a "pre authorization") then take the FULL value again on check out, for a $270 room i had $688 taken from my account, called regarding this and received NO help only advise to "call my bank" will NOT be staying here again. Avoid if possible :-)
I honestly don't know how this place gets the awards that it does. Recently stayed for our wedding. Had stayed previously about a year ago and staff were pretty average then and not overly compensating when a guest set the fire alarm off at 2am and everyone had ot be evacuated. This time we stayed more because it was easier to. The staff at the Colony are so disconnected from the staff at Mandoon - and also the lack of communication between each other is appauling. In one of our rooms the TV didn't work and after 2 calls to reception and no resolution we gave up. The other room had a bad sewerage smell coming intermitantly from the bathroom. Also worth noting if you do stay on a night when there is a wedding (as we did on the 3 nights we have stayed all up) you can guarantee the noise of wedding guests returning to the accomodation will wake you up around 11.30pm and if they decide to continue on as they did when we were there, you'll be listening to them longer. Wouldn't recommend.
