Haven't been here for quite awhile, eventhough it was getting late to order we took a chance & it certainly paid off. Food was really delicious we shared the lamb.. congratulations to the chef, melted in your mouth. Veges were cooked perfectly, still a little crunchy just as we like them. Staff & service excellent. Highly recommend
The pub has a nice feel and a good selection of drinks. However, the only vegan dish offered last night was cauliflower salad! Most pubs have moved on from offering only salads to vegans, so would be great if this place could chuck on some hot animal free food and be a little more progressive.
Recently hosted a function at The Local. The staff were lovely, attentive, and helpful. Food was delicious with a great selection of drinks and the space (the restaurant area) was beautiful and intimate for our celebration. Thank you!
Local by name, local by nature. This grand old Lady of a pub has a very relaxed elegant feel about it. It harks back to a time gone by when the local pub was a communal epicenter. More than just a place for drinking and eating. It's retained its yesteryear ambience...by that I mean more than beautiful architecture and deco. The staff are suitably friendly and casual, the entertainment is diverse in a quirky Freo manner . Local beer and meal deals means you just have to give it a go.
I went 2 days in a row. On the 1st day staff end food were excellent. On the 2nd day food was still good but one staff member had a real attitude and was openly rude. Nevertheless, I will return as the drinks on tap are great as is the food.
