This place is a lame excuse for a business. Don’t let the photos of the claw foot tub fool you. It’s freezing in the room, not proper hospitality temperature control, the hallways are ICE COLD. There aren’t windows in this “deluxe double” room style - so this is what our window looks like, a boarded up wall behind the “window”. It’s intended to have a “dark” rock n roll vibe but it just feels really dark and cold - not warm and inviting at all. It’s in a TERRIBLE LOCATION, and not walking distance to anything. There was 1 nice girl who worked here that helped us with the cancelling of our reservation, the only good thing about the hotel... The “deluxe double room” has 2 twin beds pushed up against each other, so there’s a lump in the mattress and it’s not comfortable.
Don’t stay here... they need more staff, proper temp control, new mattresses, clean carpets and proper lighting to stay in business.
The Rock Star Hotel in Kyoto provided our family with a welcoming experience with friendly staff, clean modern rooms, and a fantastic communal kitchen/bar.
The rooftop bar provides a fantastic open air location for a few drinks, and the place also has a cool lounge/club to enjoy on weekends.
Located close to the Hommachi station subway, take exit number 23 then its just a short walk.
Highly recommended if you want a clean friendly place with a modern funky vibe.
Room style is nice. But corridor is too dim and I personally find the wall paper could be a bit horrifying at the first glance.
No daily cleaning. No cups or other utensils at all. There is always a peculiar smell everytime I get into the room and need time to accommodate to it.
But as it is fairly cheap and somewhat near the train station and shopping streets, I would say this hotel is still bearable.
interesting "boutique" attempt in middle of nothing area. larger double room was nice but dirty with stained carpet and a horrible sewage smell coming up from open room bathtub. the only pro for this hotel was the fab breakfast handmade in a very modern open kitchen. it's a potential if under ¥10,000/night and you get the breakfast included.
I really appreciate my stay in this hotel. It is super design and the bathtub plus the breakfast makes it super cosy! You feel like home
