Absolutely horrible experience and lack of empathy from Hotel The Grandee. I chose this hotel because of positive reviews from my friend. I had made a booking and paid close to 500,000JPY (SGD6000) for my room last year, prior to Covid-19. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, it is impossible for me to travel to Japan this period, yet I could not even get a refund or change in schedule from the hotel. How is it fair that I have to forego my rooms over country restrictions which I have zero control over??? For the amount I have paid, I expected the hotel to at least give me more flexibility over this.
This is a decent hotel in the Shinsaibashi area. Single rooms are small, every bit as small as you would expect for Japan. The location is fine—it’s on the slightly less convenient side of Shinsaibashi but it’s 10 minutes from anything in the area. Price is acceptable and can get quite cheap on non-peak days. Worth a look if the price is right—not somewhere you’re going to want to go out of your way to visit.
Lovely clean hotel, small but excellent rooms
Booked the suite and it worth every penny. Love the oversized double king size bed and the bathtub. Unfortunately the lobby has no ramp for our baby strollers
A very nice and quiet hotel.
Although there are non smoking rooms there is a scent of cigarettes in the entrance to the hotel.
