Always a pleasant stay. Very quiet hotel and clean. The hotel itself is a little old but that’s part of the charm. With adapting to the pandemic the coffee and water station in the lobby is removed however it would be nice to include bottled water in the room for this adjustment.
Great room and nice staff. My only complaint was that the staff wasn't there all the time. After 9:00 or 10:00 they leave for the night and return in the morning. Loved being across the street from lake Eola and the balcony off the room was a great touch.
I got the King room with the balcony. The staff was friendly, but took a while to respond on the phone. I understand it was a holiday weekend. Everything was clean, except for a hair that I found in the tub. I loved window views of Lake Eola and Downtown from my balcony and French windows in the bathroom! They provided plenty of soap, TP and towels. The only con was the shower head! It was black and green with mold and oxidation and it didn't even shoot the water straight. Forget cleaning it, they need to change the darn thing!
I made a reservation and tried to call the hotel to make sure the check in process would be easy and to let the hotel know that I would be checking in late. However, before 12 am, since the message I got when I called said that the front desk would have an employee there until 12am. I arrived at 11:30 pm and there was no front desk attendant. I then called the number for a late check in and once again, no answer. I then put the code I received in my confirmation email and there was not an envelope with my name on it. There was only 1 envelope and it had the last name of someone else. I was tempted to use that room key so I had somewhere to sleep, however, I did not!
I was staying here for a trial run to decide whether or not to start booking my clients here when they are in town.
We did an extended stay at the hotel. They made it feel like home. It's located within walking distance to everything. It was quite, clean, friendly, and niche. I recommend it to anyone. IF YOU CAN...get a balcony room. They are all great, but the balcony in Orlando climate is awesome. Also go feed the wild pet birds at the lake (use the city approved food). They are awesome.
