This is by far the BEST way to visit Universal Orlando. The hotel is beautiful and has activities for all members of the family however it is the customer service that brings this to the next level. Like all Universal hotels they text you and you are able to text the front desk directly. We asked for some additional supplies for the room and they both replied and provided this immediately. One of our friends left her wallet in the room after we checked out, they had security get it immediately and asked if they wanted us to have us shipped home or left at the front for us. The on-site food is phenomenal and if you’re up for drinks and a good time, this is the place to be.
We just spent a couple nights in a club level room and were less than impressed with the value and service. Check-in took approximately 30 minutes. Our $600+/night room was a sparsely furnished, rather boring, smallish room with two queen beds. Two mirrors had minor cracks, the room wasn’t terribly clean, and so on. The club access was nice with free drinks and food during limited hours, but the quality of the food was far below what even a Holiday Inn Express serves. The wine quality was fine however. We put down the $1000 deposit to borrow an electric guitar for our ukulele playing daughter, but be aware that you can only listen to your playing via headphones or earbuds. Still, it was a nice benefit and the guitar arrived in good shape and tuned.
On the brighter side, the location is fantastic for access to the Universal Parks, which is why we stayed there. The ability to get into the parks an hour earlier than general guests is a huge bonus and combined with the fast passes spirits you into any ride you want in the early AM. The Hard Rock hotel grounds are nice and the staff was very friendly.
I think we would return for the benefits, but we wouldn’t pay for the club level benefits again.
Overall, amazing. The atmosphere is very hip and the guitar fountain at the entrance truly sets the tone for the whole resort. The hotel is absolutely huge. They have a lovely gift shop. The rooms are spacious and equipped with everything you need. (Except a microwave which is an extra up charge) but they even had shower gel which a lot of hotels don’t and that was cool. It was very clean, nicely decorated and there was germ-x in every corner. Check in was hassle free and everyone working there was very polite and professional. The car was a long walk from the room which sucked. You are about a 10 minute walk from city walk and the parks so that was nice. They also had water taxis and buses to take you. Transportation was plentiful and fast. It was a quick service , a casual dining and a fine dining restaurant so there’s plenty variety. It was convenient. Not sure i would come back for the price I paid, but it was a great experience overall.
Great place to stay. Food was great. We had so much fun at the pool with the kids. The water slide had them entertained! The lifeguards (especially Jordan) did a great job keeping kids and adults safe at the bottom of the water slide.
Beautiful property. Great staff. Unlimited fast passes make it worth the money. Super close to the park. Club level rooms (floor 7) aren't worth the added cost...DON'T waste your money.
