Thought it would be nicer, pictures are definitely false advertisement. It's clean, and the accommodations are nice, but the room we got looked like it was falling apart and the shower head whistles the whole time you're in the shower which is annoying. I loved that I had a jet tub to relax in and the view is nice but that was the only thing I actually liked about the place. Was hoping to get a couples massage but apparently the spa was closed so the discounts I picked I wasn't able to use. Maybe they should advertise that their spa is closed, because my boyfriend and I were really looking forward to that.
Front desk staff is really friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location and overlooks the beach. But overall the hotel feels really tired and rundown. There is definitely a dingy feel. The mattresses are lumpy and squeak every time you move. You can hear the guests in the room next to you and they are just talking at a normal volume. Furniture is very dated. Bathroom feels old and well used. Overpriced for off season. I’m sure this was a great hotel in its hay day, but it has been left behind. It definitely wasn’t as nice as we were expecting.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the "Grand" Hotel for Valentine's day weekend. We were greeted at the front desk promptly, but noticed many others over the weekend waiting for several minutes with no staff in sight. When we entered our room everything seemed fine, but we always check to be safe. Upon further inspection we found a fresh blood stain on the top sheet, garbage under the bed, very dirt bedskirts with what appeared to be a bug embedded in them, and wallpaper peeling off the walls. We called the front desk and notified them of our concerns. The man at the desk seemed very used to complaints like this and said someone would be up to take care of it shortly. About 20 minutes later we got a call back saying they only had one person on staff who would be up any minute. The housekeeper was very kind and thorough, but it is ridiculous to only have one staff member working during a holiday weekend. Our sheets were changed, but none of our other concerns were addressed. The hotel rooms look like they are stuck in the 1970s and the bathrooms are very small. There was even a ridiculous amount of dust stuck in the vents and the shower made an awful noise while running. Be careful in the bathroom of the metal doorstop ON THE FLOOR that is easily stepped on. Needless to say we not will be staying here. The hotel is in no way grand! The amount we payed for off season was crazy... what a waste.
Very nice place and hotel personnel are above average. The only thing is the jetted tub is pretty small.
First time here and it was amazing. Nice jacuzzi, great view from the 12th floor. Nice workers. Everything about this place screams 5-star! Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great hotel!
