Went for 2 nights, got 2 rooms in 2nd floor. Climate was cold, breezy & drizzling throughout day. Rooms were spacious and clean, well kept. Wash rooms were equipped with adequate space. Food was great, kids loved them. They even delivered to the cottage. You can walk around enjoying the spacious garden & surroundings. Staff were nice & friendly.
However, the heating was not enough. It was freezing at night. They should have really looked into that. I would seriously recommend taking a heater with you if available. If you are a tea or coffee lover, make sure to take necessary stuff as they hardly provide the material....
Went and stayed at little england cottages on the 20-21st March for the Naadhagama concert. The trip looked promising and for the price we paid we all had high hopes. We arrived and received a package which contained a piece of paper outlining what was provided with the rooms in the cottages. This included, a working fireplace, central floor heating, wifi among other things.
When we got there, there was no wifi, the fireplace was switched off and there was no central heating. We also could not lock our room door. This would have been ok if we were given the whole cottage to ourself, but considering it was shared with other guests in the concert this was a very big safety concern that we could not lock our room doors from outside when we were leaving the room.
We went in a group of 4, so we got two rooms at the cottage. The rooms we were given were very different in sizes even though we paid the same amount. One was really big and nice and the other was really small. Our toilet did not come with toilet paper and the shower area was so small and was flooding.
After calling a number of times about wifi we received a dialog router. The signal was so poor that the wifi did not even reach the rooms. When we asked about the fireplace, they said it would be started at night. However, when we called at night they said they ran out of wood and cannot start it. After complaining continuously, magically they found firewood and we got our fire. There was no central floor heating. The wall units that control the temperature were all switched off and could not be used.
The food was also pretty average and they charged us LKR 30,000 per room for two people for one night including meals. We spent the night before at an Airbnb which costed only LKR 15,000 for 4 people including food and it was a much better experience than this. It even had SLT Fiber internet which was fast and reliable.
A wonderful place to spend time with your family.

Wonderful place with extra ordinary view , when you in inside that your feel your living in old England , there are 38 cottages inside ,there is restaurant inside the little England you can order the foods no need to go out you can spend all day inside the little England , foods are delicious too..
