We recently stayed at the Standard East Village and really loved it! We had never been to any of the Standard Hotels and we enjoyed staying in the Village. The boutique hotel had an interesting ambiance with cool decor and design. We booked a corner king for the floor to ceiling views of the city and we were so thankful they put us high up on the 19th floor! What a stellar view of the city at night :). The bed was comfy and the bathroom had an oversized tub which was great. The Standard Cafe and Winter Garden looked cute, but we unfortunately didn't have time to check them out. Maybe next time! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay!
I got two rooms for my friends and I for a small birthday gathering. Ev everything was amazing. The staff was very welcoming and and the room service was wonderful. The views from the rooms were incredible and we are definitely planning on coming again. The city experience is like none before. I recommend coming here for any occasion!
Traveling for work during a pandemic is far less enjoyable but the team at the Standard EV made me feel comfortable, safe and taken care of. The room was incredibly clean and comfortable and housekeeping only comes when you request it. The front desk staff could not be more accommodating or helpful. The outdoor garden restaurant was great also, we sat in a “yurt” which is an open-walled enclosure that has a heat lamp overhead. Compared to most outdoor dining in NYC, there was plenty of room separating you from other guests. The food is also delicious highlights including the hot cocktails and the pasta. I would definitely return back when I need to be back in NYC and highly recommend it to anyone who feels iffy about travel right now.
Great spot for drinks. Prices are on the higher side. We ordered a pitcher for $70 which served about 6 cocktails! Don’t order the Brussels sprouts, you will be disappointed!!! But the fries are good, but again they’re only fries.
We had a wonderful Christmas night at The Standard.
Our room had a very comfy bed, and the bath was big enough to take a romantic bath together. The view from the 20th floor is phenomenal, especially the sunrise over the city.
Had breakfast on a chilly morning but the friendly staff and good, fresh food made it worth while to sit in the semi-open space (funky coat to keep you warm on request).
The location of the hotel is ideal for people who like to explore the city by foot. Not only the touristy sites but just to wander through the characteristic streets of NYC. Into architecture? Don't forget to look up. Above the sea of store signs are most beautiful and detailed facades to be admired.
Oh and before I forget, loved the art/ illusions throughout the hotel.
