Reviews from visitors:
The Degas House is an absolutely gorgeous historic home in the New Orleans French Quarter a group of wedding venue owners came to NOLA & David & his team provided the most incredible hospitality from greeting our group with umbrellas at the street during a downpour to spoiling our group with cocktails & delicious cuisine prepared in house. Degas House staff shared the rich history of the home, we were delighted to meet a Degas descendant working with the venue. David was eager to share recommendations on places we should visit and stories of New Orleans. Thank you to David and his team who made our visit absolutely unforgettable!!! I highly recommend The Degas house for your overnight accommodations, dining, weddings & special events. The courtyard is gorgeous as are the grounds and interior decor
Brunch was amazing. So quiet and beautiful. And great food
It’s upsetting to see that this historic home is not being kept up. When we entered into the room it was miserably hot and looked like a clean motel 6. There were dents, cracks, holes, and unfinished spackled spots all over the room. The water sprinklers in the roof were stuffed with paper towels or tissue paper. The fridge had a weird white powder all over a section of the door, we didn’t stick around to investigate it. Half of the lights didn’t work either. There was a wedding happening during our stay and it was obvious that the host of the bnb was more focused on making sure they felt at home and not wanting to share that emotion with guest unaffiliated with the wedding. The guest of that wedding were also very rude when we were trying to come back and made us very uncomfortable. We came to the Degas House in hopes to experience a historical landmark, but were met with a dingy room and disappointment.
Beautiful property! Friendly caretakers! The 3 resident kitties are a wonderful cherry on top!
We love the Degas House! We got engaged and married there, and have stayed many other times. They have amazing rooms with balconies overlooking Esplanade. They do a delicious brunch, Classic New Orleans with great service and wonderful ambience. You won’t be disappointed!
