Hands down one of the nicest hostels I've stayed in. There were a ton of small touches that removed a lot of the annoyances that usually come with staying in a hostel: to get into the building, your room, and your locker you have one key card (no padlocks to deal with), the bunk beds are built directly into the wall so one bed doesn't shake the other, the lockers have small lights that automatically turn on, the beds have privacy curtains that block out light, the lights in the room had two settings to either fully turn on or just turn on at foot-level which was perfect for anyone getting in late or leaving early, there were more than enough bathrooms along the hallway, towels and breakfast are included, laundry only costs $1 and they give you detergent, etc.
Additionally it was super clean and modern, and the location was great. I honestly can't think of any complaints; I would definitely stay here again!
Beautiful. Curtain privacy beds. Its across from collapsed Hard rock but still accessible. Super big shared kitchen facility, movie room and large dining areas. Very clean, soft bed, very stylish, charming old building.
We got the an individual room with a full bed and bunk beds. Its much bigger and nicer than the pictures look like. The kitchen is awesome if you want to go frugal and cook your meals. The staff is great as well. We will definitely be looking for Hi hostels wherever we roam from here on out.
I stayed for one night and was pleased with the beds, the atmosphere, and the amenities. Having a keycard to access the building and a personal locker was a huge plus. The building can definitely seem maze-like when searching for your room, but everything is clean and comfortable. There is a fantastic kitchen/dining area on the second floor that serves a decent complimentary breakfast in the morning, and the lobby is great to just hangout and meet other guests.
This hostel also hosts events throughout the week, so be sure to try and sign up for one in the lobby if you're interested in seeing the city and meeting other hostel guests.
This location on Canal Street was conveniently located about a five- to ten-minute walk from the southern end of Bourbon Street, which is great if you're in town to enjoy the nightlife. The front entrance was a little hard to find with all of the construction on the street outside, and it probably wouldn't be the nicest spot to be walking to in the early hours of the morning.
Very affordable, easy stay in a good location, relatively close to just about anything you'd want to do and see.
