I’ve had some incredibly fun times at the Drifter, both as a hotel guest and just visiting to swim. Its decor and laid back vibe always float my boat.
I love the pool here. Me and my boyfriend go every weekend. The pool is small but fitting for a retro motel of its caliber. The scene is great and that's what makes this place. I love the freedom (tops are optional) and the high level of discretion (no photos of others without their permission). Everyone is respectful and its just an overall chill vibe. The bar is fully stocked and they have a nice selections of beer and cocktails. Pool passes are for 2 hour time slots. I'd suggest you book at least 1 day in advance because they fill up fast and it sucks being waitlisted. They offer swim club memberships for influencers and service industry workers that entails 1 pool time slot and one free guest per day for 1 year.
The manager and whoever else is in charge are completely unprofessional. Gave us the middle finger several times and told us we were 86ed after we had already exited. Also called me ugly. These people don’t know how to handle customers and clearly had an issue with us from the beginning (we came twice on different days). We lost a credit card on the first day and they said they would call us back. Never did. We called several times and there was no answer. We went on the second day, and magically they had the card. Overall, this place isn’t worth it. The people working here are trash except for a female bartender that is so kind.
Has a heated pool and topless(only if you want), what more can you ask for???!! Also there's food truck or some type of food most days.
I never knew this place existed. I mean. I've driven by during the day, I knew there was a hotel that constantly said no vacancy but I never really saw any life. Or anything other than a hotel. Surprise surprise surprise. There is a bar and patio area and a pool. The bar makes me think of the Brady Bunch on acid. Very cool. It was quiet the night I went to meet a group. I got a drink and headed to the patio area where evidently is the place to be. It was just the group, but this is December in New Orleans. I can see the potential of the great times to be had. Drinks were reasonably priced. They don't have food service regularly, but have pop ups on occasion and food trucks for special events. I look forward to coming back for the full experience.
